1. P1 Registration Starts in July

For those with kids going to Primary 1 in 2024, the P1 registration kicks off this July and do take note of the following phases - and do not miss out on the important dates! 

  • Phase 1 from 4 to 5 July,
  • Phase 2A from 12 to 14 July
  • Phase 2B from 24 to 25 July
  • Phase 2C from 1 - 3 Aug
  • Phase 2C Supplementary from 17 - 18 Aug

For new parents preparing for your child's milestone, an important consideration is your child's after-school care arrangements. In general, your options are (1) to enlist grandparents to help, (2) hire a help / domestic helper, (3) rely on yourself or (4) enrol in a student care centre.

The Singapore Navy Museum is a 3-storey museum that showcases the history of the Republic of Singapore Navy and the journey it took to be the modern fighting force today. 

The museum has reopened from it's revamp and now boast an improved exhibition space with interactive displays and new programmes for families. Families can expect lots of photo opportunities and the chance to join in thematic programmes too! 

3. Take Part in the BYKidO Post-Holiday Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

4. The LEGO BTS Dynamite Experience Lights Up Orchard Road

5. Kidzania Singapore To Return in 2024

While it is not happening this month, we cannot wait to share this good news with you! The popular Kidzania Singapore will reopen in the 1st Quarter of 2024 at its previous location at Sentosa!

Kidzania is an indoor family attraction that allows children to role-play different jobs. It first opened in Singapore in April 2016 on Sentosa Island and was a popular attraction for families but closed in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The existing venue will be refurbished and will include the latest design, theming and role-play activities, a new toddler-exclusive area and adult events lounge, among other new introductions. 

6. Visit the New Aviation-themed Playgrounds at Dakota Breeze

Take off into an adventure at the Aviation-themed Playgrounds at Dakota Breeze! Located at the junction of Jalan Satu and Jalan Dua, Dakota Breeze offers not just one, but three unique playgrounds for your family's enjoyment. In addition to these fantastic play areas, Dakota Breeze also features fitness zones and two rooftop gardens, which are accessible to both residents and the general public.

7. Catch the NDP 2023 Rehearsals this Month

The National Day Parade (NDP) 2023 will be held on 9 August 2023 at the Padang. Families can expect the Red Lions parachute team, an enhance aerial fly past, marching contingents, spectacular performances, fireworks and more! There will also be heartland celebrations happening across 5 venues in Singapore!

While the parade is happening at the Padang, the main fireworks will still be happening at Marina Bay. Families can head down to North Bridge Road or to Marina Bay to catch snippets of the upcoming NDP rehearsals and fireworks!

8. SAFRA Choa Chu Kang Opens with Family-friendly Amenities and More

The 29,000 sqft SAFRA Choa Chu Kang Clubhouse offers five-stories of amentities including a sheltered swimming pool, sky running track, a range of sheltered sports facilities and more!

The 150m sky running track is linked to Choa Chu Kang Park and offers a scenic views of the KJE making your next family run more interesting. Families will also be excited to know about the sheltered swimming pool that will allow users to have a dip be it rain or shine, surrounded by lush greenery too!

Other facilities include include a rock climbing wall, a bowling alley, an indoor playground and an outdoor amphitheatre that will also play host to live entertainment and mass workouts that the whole family can participate in.

The new SAFRA Choa Chu Kang is also home to the 2nd Kiztopia Bouncetopia outlet in Singapore where kids can have jumping fun for hours! 12. Attend Family Friendly Activities at the Singapore Wellness Festival

Held from 17 June till 9 July 2023, this year’s Singapore Wellness Festival will give families a wide range of Singapore’s wellness offerings to explore. Families can head down to the Marina Bay Sands’ Event Plaza to experience a multi-sensory pop-up, to Sentosa where the Zentosa LiveWELL Festival is returning with over 250 activities, the Gallery Wellness Festival, presented by the National Gallery Singapore will also feature more than 20 unique art-inspired wellness experiences, and at the Gem Rendezvous where families can discover the enchanting world of gemstones and unlock their hidden secrets 

13. Get Tickets to Madagascar the Musical

Madagascar the Musical, a live adaption of the Dreamworks animated franchise will be coming to Singapore from 18 to 28 Jan 2024 as part of its international tour and will be performing at the Esplanade's Theatres by the Bay. 

The LIVE performance will tell the story of Alex the lion and his best friends Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo, escaping New York’s Central Park Zoo with the help of some prodigious penguins to explore the world. Families can expect elaborate display of dance, music, puppetry, costumes and stage design. It will also include storytelling, choreography and the film’s iconic tunes.

14. Take Part in the Inaugural Singapore Super Charity Cup 2023

The inaugural Singapore Super Charity Cup 2023 is a 7-a-side football tournament organised by Football Inc. Held as part of SHINE Children and Youth Services’ (SHINE) annual fundraising event – SHINE Nothing Is Impossible 2023 – that aims to empower the underprivileged youths under SHINE’s care to achieve their full potential. Proceeds from registration to participate in the tournament or join as event spectators will go to SHINE. 

Participants can join the in the fun by donating $5, $10, $20, $50 to attend the event. Donations can be done via SISTIC. Event participants will get to

  • Lace up their boots and be part of football clinics conducted by Football Inc Academy’s coaches.
  • Participate in fitness and martial arts activities by Everfit Singapore.
  • Visit and learn about various charity organisations at their booths, including Singapore Association for Mental Health, Food from the Heart, Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS), and many more.

15. Air Combat - A Brand New VR Experience at Sentosa

18. Interactive Bus Tours to ‘Semangat yang Baru: Forging a New Singapore Spirit’ Exhibition

Come on board with the Founders’ Memorial on an interactive journey about our nation-building years! The Memorial is organising bus tours to its pilot exhibition, Semangat yang Baru: Forging a New Singapore Spirit, to bring Singaporeans from the heartlands to the exhibition. Participants will take a journey back in time, and will hear stories from role-playing guides about real challenges and dilemmas faced by our leaders and the people of Singapore, during our independence years of the 1950s to 1970s. These stories will flesh out the values and principles such as multiculturalism, boldness and resilience that have become foundational to Singapore. Participants will also receive a limited-edition tote bag filled with snacks.

19. OSIM Bring Art Jamming To Its Outlets

20. Take Part in Read! Fest! 2023 by National Library Board

The National Library Board’s (NLB) signature Read! Fest is back for its eighth edition! From now to 31 July 2023, there will be a myriad of events for all to take part in, including an immersive and interactive pop-up showcase at Funan Mall, a charity book drive, author talks and many other programmes online, in libraries, a wet market, and a void deck of a housing block in Ang Mo Kio.

Read! Fest will feature talks and workshops with Singapore and international writers including Felix Cheong, Verena Tay, Pamelia Chia, Elizabeth Strout. There will also be 70 special programmes that further explore the featured titles with experiential learning, such as learning trails in a HDB void deck and the Chinatown Complex wet market.

When Sadness Comes To Call is a theatrical performance that helps our little ones explore the emotion of sadness and the importance of accepting it. A gentle and reassuring production recommended for young audiences age 4 and up, this production encourages dialogue between children and their grown-ups on how to deal with sadness creatively.
