2025 School and Public Holidays
1. School Holidays 2025
The school year for 2025 for all MOE primary schools (including MOE Kindergartens) and secondary schools will start on Thursday, 2 January 2025 and end on Friday, 21 November 2025. Do also note that Primary 1 and Kindergarten 1 will start school on Thursday, 2 January 2025. Primary 2 to 6 and Kindergarten 2 will start school on Friday, 3 January 2025.
The school holidays in 2024 for Primary & Secondary schools are
- March Holidays: 15 Mar to 23 Mar
- June Holidays: 31 May to 29 Jun
- September Holidays: 6 Sep to 14 Sep
- Year-end Holidays: 22 Nov to 31 Dec
There will also be four scheduled school holidays for the 2024 school year: Youth Day, Teachers’ Day and Children’s Day.
- Off-in-lieu for Polling Day: 5 May 2025
- Off-in-lieu for Hari Raya Haji: 9 Jun 2025 (subject to confirmation)
- Youth Day: 6 Jul 2025 (The following 7 Jul will be a school holiday)
- Off-in-lieu for National Day: 11 Aug 2025
- Teachers' Day: 5 Sep 2025
- Children's Day: 3 Oct 2025
*Added Polling Day: Ministry of Education (MOE) announced that 5 May, the Monday after Polling Day, will be a school holiday.
For those in Primary School, you will also want to take note of the PSLE dates*. Primary schools are on holiday over the PSLE Marking Days and there might be other closures / half-days during the other exam dates.
*The tentative dates for the PSLE Examinations was recently released and updated.
2. School Calendar 2025
The school calendar for primary and secondary schools in 2025 are as follows
- Term 1: Thu 2 Jan to Fri 14 Mar
- Term 2: Mon 24 Mar to Fri 30 May
- Term 3: Mon 30 Jun to Fri 5 Sep
- Term 4: Mon 15 Sep to Fri 21 Nov

3. Public Holidays 2025
The following are the Public Holidays for 2025.

Added: Polling Day is a public holiday should be treated the same as any other public holiday.
4. Maximise Your Holidays in 2025
There will be FOUR long weekends in 2025, according to the list of gazetted public holidays announced by the Ministry of Manpower.
2025 Long Weekends

- 18 Apr 2025, Fri: Good Friday
- 12 May 2025, Mon: Vesak Day
- 20 Oct 2025, Mon: Deepavali

- Chinese New Year falls on Wed and Thu, and you can have a 5 day break if you take leave on Fri, 31 Jan 2025.
- Labour Day falls on Thu, and you can have a 4 day break if you take leave on 2 May 2025
- Christmas Day falls on Thu, and you can have a 4 day break if you take leave on 26 Dec 2025
- 2 Public Holidays, National Day and Hari Raya Haji*, falls on Sat.
2026 School and Public Holidays
1. School Holidays 2026
The official school holidays have been released from MOE on 30 Jul 2026. The school holidays in 2026 for Primary & Secondary schools are
- March Holidays: 14 Mar to 22 Mar
- June Holidays: 30 May to 28 Jun
- September Holidays: 5 Sep to 13 Sep
- Year-end Holidays: 21 Nov to 31 Dec
1Primary 1 and Kindergarten 1 will start school on Friday, 2 January 2026. Primary 2 to 6 and Kindergarten 2 will start school on Monday, 5 January 2026.
There will also be 3 scheduled school holidays for the 2026 school year: Youth Day, Teachers’ Day and Children’s Day.
- Youth Day: 5 Jul 2026 (The following Mon 6 Jul will be a school holiday)
- Teachers' Day: 4 Sep 2026
