The ActiveSG Sport Park @ Teck Ghee officially opened at the end of January on the site of the former Ang Mo Kio Swimming Complex. The former single-use swimming complex is transformed into a multi-functional Sport Park expanding the community access to sport.

Mark your calendars for 3 March 2026. Singapore is set to witness a stunning Total Lunar Eclipse, and Science Centre Singapore is throwing open its doors for a massive community viewing party. This isn't just a science lesson; itâs an incredible "once-in-a-few-years" phenomenon where the Earth's shadow turns the moon a rich, rusty red.
Science Centre will set up 15 high-powered telescopes for the public, offering 30x magnification to view the moon up-close. There will also be Science Educators on hand to explain exactly whatâs happening as the moon moves through the Earth's shadow.
Admission is free and walk-ins are allowed, but pre-registered visitors will get priority access for the telescopic viewing queue. Visitors may also purchase a special bundle that includes telescope viewing and Live Omni-Theatre Planetarium show at $4 per person.

This yearâs celebrations will be anchored by the Official Street Light-Up & Opening Ceremony on 30 January 2026 at 6.00 PM at Kreta Ayer Square, marking the formal launch of the seasonâs festivities.
The 2026 Street Light-Up, themed âGalloping into the Prosperous Yearâ (äžé©Źć„è ŸïŒćèżæ°æ„), draws inspiration from traditional Chinese paper-cutting and is centred around a striking 8.8-metre golden horse installation, symbolising momentum, aspiration and collective progress. The illuminated streets across South Bridge Road, Upper Cross Street, New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Seng Street will be adorned with horse-inspired lanterns, auspicious motifs, orchids and layered red drapes, creating an enchanting festive landscape for visitors.
Highlights of the wider programme include the Countdown Party (æ°æ„ćæ°æŽŸćŻč) from 16 to 17 February 2026 at Kreta Ayer Square, and the Chinese New Year International Lion Dance Competition (æ°æ„ćœé çźçäșéžéèŻ·è”) on 7 and 8 February 2026 at the Kreta Ayer Peopleâs Theatre, featuring top troupes from Singapore and across the region.

In the Year of the Horse, eight majestic, life-sized horse lanterns handcrafted by Chinese artisans using techniques that originated in the Tang Dynasty over a thousand years ago take centre stage at the Spring Blossoms Floral Display at the Flower Dome. Admire the horses as they cavort amid plum blossoms, orchids, chrysanthemums and bamboo â plants collectively known as the âFour Gentlemenâ of Chinese art and philosophy.
As the Lunar New Year heralds new beginnings and good fortune, the eight horses symbolise strength, vitality and success. The surrounding landscape draws inspiration from the aesthetics of Jiangnan Gardens, celebrated for their tranquil harmony with nature and regarded as masterpieces of garden design. Echoing the Chinese literati of the past, who sought rest and reflection in such spaces, visitors are invited to stroll through moon gates or pause at pavilions while admiring seasonal blooms, including dahlias, and azaleas.
Before you go, beat the Blooming Drum of Spring, decorated with the classic Baoxiang Flower motif where lotus, peony and foliage intertwine, for good luck.Â

Income Eco Run (IER) 2026 returns on 19 April 2026 at the Bayfront Event Space, rallying the community once again around climate-positive action under its enduring theme, âHow Far Will You Go for Zero Waste?â
Designed to be inclusive and family-friendly, the carbon-neutral run welcomes participants of all agesâand even petsâwith an expanded range of categories including 21.1km, 15km, 10km, 5km and 3km runs, a 700m Kids Dash (ages 4â9), a new 1.2km Kids Run (ages 10â12), and pet runs of 700m or 1.2km for dogs and cats (with up to two owners per pet).
Staying true to its zero-waste ethos, the event features compostable cups, smaller run bibs, e-medals, upcycled kidsâ medals, carbon offsetting, and a strong âwear-your-own-teeâ culture, with an optional $10 sustainability-designed tee made from recycled bottles.
