Children born between 2 Jan 2017 to 1 Jan 2018 will need to take note of this year's (2023) P1 primary school registration exercise.

Preparing for your child to enter P1 next year? Here are the phases and key dates to take note of for the P1 primary school registration exercise 2023. Note that this year's registration will be conducted online.

What Do You Need For The Primary School Registration?

Before you register, you should have chosen a suitable school for your child. Common considerations are the school's reputation, distance from home and even CCA offered.

During the registration process, you should have the following information on hand too.

Child's full name
Child’s birth certificate number
Child’s date of birth
Address used for registration
Email
Contact details

You will also be required to email your child's immunisation records to the school upon request or by the reporting day. Other documentations might be required according to your circumstances. You can check on MOE website for details.

Local Versus International Students

P1 registration is conducted over several phases. Phases 1 to 2C Supplementary apply to children who are Singapore Citizens (SC) and Permanent Residents (PR).

International students must register through a 2-step process prior to registration in Phase 3.

Phases and Key Dates

You can only register your child in one school at any phase. Multiple applications will not be accepted. If you made multiple submissions in the same phase, MOE will only take your latest online application.

If you are looking to register your child in another school after securing a space in the previous phase, you will first need to withdraw your place before registering in the new phase. If you did not withdraw, MOE will not process your new registration.

Phase 1

For a child who has a sibling studying in the primary school.

Note: All children registered under this phase are guaranteed places in the schools

The primary school will provide you with the registration details by April. You should submit the online form upon receiving instructions from the school. If you have not received it, please contact the school.

Registration Dates:

From: 9am on Tuesday, 4 July 2023
To: 4.30pm on Wednesday, 5 July 2023

Results Date: Tuesday, 11 July 2023

Phase 2A

For a child:

Whose parent or sibling is a former student of the primary school, including those who have joined the alumni association of the primary school as a member.
Whose parent is a member of the School Advisory or Management Committee.
Whose parent is a staff member of the primary school.
From the MOE Kindergarten under the purview of and located within the primary school.

You will need to complete an online registration.

Registration Dates:

From: 9am on Wednesday, 12 July 2023
To: 4.30pm on Friday, 14 July 2023

Results Date: Friday, 21 July 2023

Phase 2B

For a child:

Whose parent has joined the primary school as a parent volunteer not later than 1 July of the year before P1 registration and has given at least 40 hours of voluntary service to the school by 30 June of the year of P1 registration.
Whose parent is a member endorsed by the church or clan directly connected with the primary school.
Whose parent is endorsed as an active community leader.

You will need to complete an online registration.

Registration Dates:

From: 9am on Monday, 24 July 2023
To: 4.30pm on Tuesday, 25 July 2023

Results Date: Monday, 31 July 2023

Phase 2C

For a child who is not yet registered in a primary school.

You should register online using the Primary One Internet System (P1-IS). If you are unable to use the P1-IS, please use the online form link provided in the P1-IS for registration.

Registration Dates:

From: 9am on Tuesday, 1 August 2023
To: 4.30pm on Thursday, 3 August 2023

Results Date: Tuesday, 15 August 2023

Phase 2C Supplementary

For a child who is not yet registered in a primary school after Phase 2C.

You should register online using the Primary One Internet System (P1-IS). If you are unable to use the P1-IS, please use the online form link provided in the P1-IS for registration.
