Organised by a local father in partnership with children’s charity Playeum, Born To Play: A Family Playdate is a free community play experience bringing families together over the 10 and 11 October 2026 weekend.

Designed to help parents slow down and reconnect with their young ones, each 1.5-hour session invites children and caregivers to engage in child-led, open-ended play. The experience follows a structured flow—starting with a gentle "magic portal" check-in, followed by 50 minutes of unstructured exploration across four activity stations: building in the DIY Cardboard Playground, crafting in Nature Play, printing patterns at Karang Guni Prints, or taking a breather inside The Whispering Tent.

Children will ge to build the perfect meal! With Build My Meal, allows kids get to mix and match their ideal 3-item combination using their favourite items! Curiosity Cove at Mandai Wildlife Reserve is hosting its inaugural Halloween event, The Mischief Within, where young Ranger Buddies can help characters Al and Min solve a playful indoor mystery across two distinct experiences.

During the day, the Boo-tiful Day programme runs from 10 am to 5.30 pm, offering carnival-style games like Mischief Knockdown and Pumpkin Blast (included with standard admission). Kids can also craft a Neon Glow Painting or Glow Night Lamp ($6 per craft or $15 for 3), or purchase a pre-filled candy bag ($6) to trick-or-treat with roving crew members around the playscape. Completing activities earns stamps on a Quest Card to redeem an exclusive Halloween badge.

Crack The Case: Wonderland

You are invited to a party. The Mad Hatter is holding his un-birthday tea party at Goodman Arts Centre this October, and by the time the guests arrive something has gone badly wrong with it. The tea is cold. The riddles are stale. And nobody in Wonderland is quite themselves.

Something — or someone — has stolen the Madness, the spark that makes Wonderland wonderful. The guests have ninety minutes to work out who took it.

Crack The Case: Wonderland is not a show where you are the audience watching the cast. It is an immersive experience where you are part of the show, standing within the set, influencing the outcome of the show. As such, do note that the 10.30am and 2pm sessions are built with families in mind, and are open to guests aged 6 and above with an accompanying adult, while the 4.45pm and 8pm shows are suitable for adults. 

The experience runs 90 minutes, is indoors and goes ahead rain or shine. While there are no strenuous activities, but audiences are on their feet for the full ninety minutes. 

Families may also wish to consider booking the Wonderland Children’s Workshop — an hour of drama games, craft and tea-party etiquette at $48 for their children. It is held at 9am before the 10.30am show and 12.30pm before the 2pm show.

The SSO's popular Babies’ Proms returns this October 2026 with its well-established and familiar programme that has entertained generations of kids. Sesame Street Magical Art World Chapter 2 at Marina Square

Following its initial launch earlier this year, Sesame Street Magical Art World returns to Marina Square with Chapter 2. This latest iteration transforms Level 3 into an interactive, multi-sensory exhibition where international contemporary artists reimagine iconic characters like Elmo, Cookie Monster, and Bert through distinct artistic lenses, vibrant textures, and playful installations.

Families can explore several themed zones inside the Level 3 exhibition space (#03-153 to 155). Orchard Paddock 2026: Open-Air Supper & Car-Themed Fun

Located right in the heart of Orchard Road, Orchard Paddock transforms Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza into an open-air race playground after dark. Perfect for families looking to soak in the Grand Prix atmosphere without entering the circuit, this pop-up combines real-world cars, hands-on gaming, and family entertainment.

Kids and racing fans can get up close with a 2026 Corvette Stingray, ride go-karts at the Dorifto! track, or play racing-themed arcade games at Turbo Play!. Older children and parents can test their driving skills on SIMFAI racing simulators or challenge the Aliwal Chess Club at their Neon Chess and street challenge stations.

Younger ones will love the Hot Wheels x Formula 1 zone, featuring exclusive collectibles and a hands-on track area to race their toy cars, alongside a giant Singapore Circuit UNO card photo spot. Families can also collect stamps around the Paddock on the Circuit Card Stamp Rally for a chance to win prizes, then grab a bite at the Refuel Station featuring sushi tacos, smash burgers, and local treats from vendors like Makoto-Ya and OMD Café & Bar. The evening rounds off with live musical performances and open-air movie screenings, including The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Explore Japan at The Japan Rail Fair 2026: Stamps, Snacks & Cultural Experiences

The Japan Rail Fair 2026 returns from 15 to 17 October, bringing Japanese culture, food, travel inspiration and interactive activities to Urban Park at Guoco Tower. The free three-day Japan travel event focuses on lesser-known destinations across Eastern Japan, including regions from Kanto to Tohoku.

Beyond the 17 interactive booths, there’s plenty to keep you busy throughout the fair. Try your hand at the Eki Stamp Rally and Layered Stamp Trail, contribute to the new Community Puzzle Wall, or catch cultural performances and interactive activities on stage. Little train enthusiasts can also get behind the controls of the JR EAST Train Simulator, while food lovers can look forward to Japanese pears, regional snacks, sake, fugu and other flavours from across Japan.

Stories of Everyday — National Museum of Singapore’s 139th Anniversary Celebrations

The National Museum of Singapore marks its 139th birthday with a celebration to remember at Stories of Everyday! Running from 10 to 18 October 2026, the festivities honour the lived experiences of Singaporeans across generations, while making new memories across the revamped Singapore History Gallery and museum grounds. 

Be among the first to experience the renewed Singapore History Gallery, uncovering fresh perspectives on 700 years of Singapore’s past through new artefacts and stories. Step into the National Living Room, an immersive installation that recreates a living room of the past. Browse a curated selection of ceramics, stationery, art prints, homeware, accessories, food and more, at The Living Archive: A Living & Design Market by Of Wonder Wander, with a refreshed vendor line-up from 14 October.

Learn about the world of the Orang Laut with Orang Seletar artisans at A Lighter Side of History: Voices from the Sea, as they share about how their deep connections to our surrounding waters have shaped their lives and identities. Don’t forget to keep a lookout for special in-gallery pop-up characters or join The Human Expression (T.H.E) Dance Company’s participatory dance performance or community jamming with Ann Siang Sounds.

You’ll even be able to say hello to Stoney, the Museum’s new mascot inspired by the Singapore Stone, a National Treasure housed at the Museum. Check out his larger-than-life installation at the Lawn, snap a pic with him as he wanders around the Museum groups or even create your own soft and cuddly Stoney with pipe cleaners with our drop-in craft activity, Stoney, A Softie at Heart!

Halloween Trick or Treat @ Woodgrove

Many parents will remember the massive crowds and impressive decorations of this popular community event that has been running since 2006 - mention Woodgrove Halloween and you will get excited looks from children and teenagers too!

While there is no official website and we cannot promise you when it will happen, the event has been happening on 31 Oct over the years (for close to 20 years - even with decorations up over COVID period) and we are quite sure it will be the same day this year. If you like to impromptu fun, this event is for you!

Watten Estate Trick or Treat

Hantu Kaki Kotor

Based on The Ghost with Dirty Feet by Sharon Ismail, Hantu Kaki Kotor is an exciting, magical, and heartwarming theatre experience for children and families. Set in a kampong and filled with adventure, humour, and heart, the play follows Ali, a young boy who embarks on a quest to catch the mysterious King of the river in hopes of helping his family through difficult times.

Through Ali's journey, audiences are invited to reflect on themes of self-worth, belonging, empathy, resilience, and the different forms that families can take. Hantu Kaki Kotor encourages young audiences to explore themes of family, courage, and community through the power of storytelling, while offering an engaging introduction to theatre and Malay-language performance. 

Recommended for 7 to 12 years old, the performance is approximately 50 minutes long (no intermission) and is performed in Malay with Malay and English surtitles.
