Cue the whimsical music: it’s a carnival of fun over at Yishun Beacon! Say hello to a giant merry-go-round-themed playground, which spans two storeys.

Choose your ride & hop on

The first floor has an assortment of carousel horses. Take your pick from a single-seater or double-seater horse, or even a pair of parallel horses. In true carousel fashion, there’s also a carriage.

These might be stationary, but all you have to do is to sit back and watch your child’s imagination come to life!

For more play, check out the suspended net swing, balancing disks, and rotating spinners.Ā

A world of colour waits at the top

Head up the netted ramp to get to the second floor, which pops with colour! Make your way across the giant netted floor, or have a whirl with the surrounding interactive boards. The entire space is sheltered by a colourful canopy too.

Which slide will you try first: the colourful open slide or the curvy red one?

For older kids: take on this climbing challenge

Just next door, you’ll find a climbing tower. We’re loving the paddle pop pastel hues!

Inside, you’ll find multiple levels of climbing nets and slopes. The frame is rather narrow, so it might be best to take turns with other children. If younger kids need more support, the walls provide extra grip.

To get to the bottom, simply zoom down a curvy yellow slide.Ā

Can’t get enough? There’s a mini bouldering wall built into the side of the climbing tower.

Other play elements include a seesaw, trampoline, and a rocking horse.

Our experience

We loved the whimsical and novel nature of the merry-go-round playground! The canopy looks especially gorgeous — if only it were opaque to keep out the sun.Ā

As for the climbing tower, the gaps between each level are rather big. We hence recommend this climbing tower for older children, as our four-year-old daughter required some assistance to get up.Ā

What to bring

If you’re planning on visiting in the middle of the day, it might be best to bring a hat and some sunscreen. Sturdy shoes are a must to allow your children to navigate the netted flooring with ease. Bring a full water bottle, and note that there aren’t any toilets in the immediate vicinity.

Location

The playground is within the Yishun Beacon estate, and can be found at Block 936 Yishun Central 1. A multi-storey carpark is at the same block, and Yishun MRT is a short 10-minute walk away.
