Looking for a fun and engaging activity to keep the kids entertained? Head over to Forum The Shopping Mall, where Ranger Buddies is hosting an all-new, interactive mission, Secrets of the Wild.

Designed as a sound-led forest adventure, this free event invites young Ranger Buddies to put their senses to the test—using curiosity, keen observation, and listening skills to uncover how wildlife communicates, adapts, and survives in the wild.

Step Inside the Spooky Sound Dome

The adventure begins at the Spooky Sound Dome, located at the open foyer at the main entrance of the mall. Step inside this dark, immersive inflatable dome fitted with forest ambience and hidden details.

Children will need to listen closely to distinct animal calls echoing through the dark to identify which hidden creatures are lurking inside—whether it is a night owl or a hidden frog. It is a fun hands-on (ears-on) way for kids to discover how nocturnal animals rely on sound to communicate when the sun goes down.

Challenge Your Senses Across 5 Interactive Zones

Moving into the B1 Atrium, Ranger Buddies will navigate through five interactive activity stations to complete the mission:

• Eyes of the Night: Ever wondered how animals navigate in total darkness? Look through a special dark viewing box to compare human vision against the low-light vision of an owl and the heat-sensing vision of a pit viper.

• Hidden in Plain Sight (Part 1 & 2): Test your child's eagle eyes on detailed habitat panels where animals and insects blend seamlessly into their surroundings. Kids can also use special deer-vision goggles to see how shifting colour perception changes how camouflaged animals appear. Children will learn how preys try to use disguise and adaptation to hide while predators may have adapted to spot them better too! 

• Beak Challenge: Birds eat all sorts of foods, but which beak works best? Children get to use different beak tools to try gathering nectar, picking up grubs from tree bark, and scooping tiny fish out of water, learning how beaks of different birds are shaped to suit the diet they have. 

• Unlock the Secret Melody: At every station, children track their answers on a mission card to eliminate incorrect musical notes. At the final station, kids use the remaining correct notes to play the forest’s secret melody on a giant floor piano!

Weekend Highlights: Live Insects Workshop & Character Meet-and-Greets

Visiting on the weekend? Mark these special dates on your calendar for extra fun! 

• Masters of Disguise Live Insect Workshop: On Sat, 24 Oct 2026 (1 pm – 4 pm), kids can drop by a booth-style workshop to observe real camouflaged insects up close and learn how they hide from predators in nature.

• Ranger Buddies Meet & Greet: On Sat, 31 Oct 2026, meet Ranger Buddies Al and Min in person! Catch them at the B1 Atrium during two 30-minute sessions: 12.30pm – 1 pm and 3.30 pm – 4 pm.
