Going to the shopping mall is a common Singaporean past-time, but where should you bring the kids to? We have found a list of malls with free indoor and outdoor play spaces, as well as free water play too! Bookmark this list for the next time you need ideas of where to go!

City Square Mall

City Square Mall is paradise for mummies and daddies who need to get some shopping done and for kids to have fun! It has not one, but 3 free playgrounds for tonnes of play time! The mall is also home to Kidodo Indoor Playground, Airzone and Timezone too! 

For younger ones, you will want to head over to the sheltered playground located at B1. While small, it provides younger kids with lots of opportunities to explore with minimal climbing involved. 

Older kids will want to head over to the outdoor Eco-Playground at Level 1 where they will have to climb up a metal structure before sliding down! Otherwise, the revamped Inclusive Playground is another popular spot. It features a climbing net, a swinging bridge, and a tall green slide plus inclusive swings and a wheelchair accessible merry-go-round.

That’s not all that makes this a great family-friendly mall. City Square Mall’s amenities, which includes baby seats in toilet cubicles, diaper changing stations in both male and female toilets (because daddies change diapers for their babies too), nursing room, family room, and potty seats, is also what makes it the perfect destination for families.

313 Somerset

Location: 313 Orchard Road, Sky Terrace on Level 5, Singapore 238895

The 313 Somerset playground is located at the Sky Terrace on Level 5, outside Food Republic. The floors are padded and the playground equipment are low to the ground, hence making it very safe and conducive for younger children, even for the crawlers too. 

The playground is quite small but it is sheltered and conveniently located such that parents can enjoy their meal / coffee while watching the kids too!

Forum The Shopping Mall

Location: 83 Orchard Rd, Singapore 238884
Opening Hours: Mondays to Fridays, 11:30am – 5pm; Saturdays, Sundays & PH, 10:30am – 5pm

Located on Level 2 of Forum The Shopping MallHips Kids Club Playground is not really a free playground. You will be required to join the Hip Kids Club before getting access to the playground - the membership is priced at $25 per annum (or pay $5 for a one-time entry) and allows you to enjoy discounts at the mall too. 

The playground itself is a padded playground with climbing structures, slides and spring rides for the kids. If you frequent the mall, the playground will be a useful stop for the kids to have fun at - do note that you will need to book a time slot to play too. 

Great World

Location: Level 2, Kim Seng walk 2 Singapore, Singapore 237994
Opening Hours: 10am – 10pm (closed during wet weather)

The Great World Playland is a transport-themed playground with a hot-air balloon, train and ship for the kids to pretend play while climbing and running around!

The main play equipment at the Great World Playland is a hot-air balloon play structure. The "balloon" is a metal dome with climbing nets for children to climb into. inside the dome, kids will find more climbing nets and ropes, and to exit, they simply take the metal slide to make a grand exit! Kids can also board the red choo choo train or climb up the ship too!

Located at Level 2 of Great World, Great World Playland is suitable for kids aged between 2 to 12 yrs old! The entrance to the playground is between Kith Cafe and Tokyu Hands, so bring your globe-trotting kids to explore a world of fun! 

Do note that the playground is not sheltered and will be closed when it rains. 

Suntec City Mall

One of the largest malls in Singapore, Suntec City is also home to SuperPark, the huge adventure play venue that caters to a wide age group. If you are looking for the free playground, head over to Suntec City East Wing and you will find Let's Play @ L3. 

While the playground is relatively small, the padded ground and simple structures makes it a good spot for early walkers to explore and have fun. The main play structure includes a ladder, tunnel and slide, and it is also surrounded by a couple of sensory structures and spring rides too. 

Most suited for kids from 1 to 3 years old, but do be careful of older kids who may be running around the play space too!

Marina Square

Location: 6 Raffles Blvd, Singapore 039594
Opening Hours: 10.30 am – 10pm 

Home to the popular indoor playgrounds, Kiztopia and Pororo Park, Marina Square also boasts a space-themed indoor playground located at level 3, outside Mothercare. 

Already a mall with lots of family-friendly amenities and shops, this little play space adds to the family-score! While small, kids will enjoy climbing into and out of the main play structure as well as the many other space-themed structures around! 

Paragon 

Location: Paragon Shopping Mall, Level 5, besides Mothercare, 290 Orchard Rd, Singapore 238859
Opening Hours: 11 am - 8 pm

If you are wondering where you can bring your kids out for playground fun along Orchard Road, you can head down to the Children's Playground @ Paragon Shopping Mall! The Paragon Junior is a little playground located at Level 5 of the mall, just beside the Mothercare Experiential Store

The playground was recently refreshed and families can expect a forest-themed playground with a Treehouse in the middle with a slide! There's also a see-saw for little ones to play in too! For the younger ones, they can explore the busy boards and even hop on the many kiddie rides next to the playground too! Parents will be please to know that there are ample air-conditioned sitting space for you to rest within view of the playground!

Families can expect more family-friendly shops and amenities when they visit Paragon too!

Junction 8

Location: Junction 8, Level 3, 9 Bishan Place, Singapore 579837

Located at Level 3 of Junction 8, this free playground is a Wallholla playground - a type of playground that is built vertically for kids to climb, swing and jump. The playground is more suitable for confident climbers but younger kids may still engage in play at the lower levels of the playground. The playground also features a slide for kids to climb up, and slide down! 

NEX

Location: 23 Serangoon Central, Level 4R, Singapore 556083
Opening Hours: 11 am - 7 pm

Located at the roof-top of NEXKidzPlay @ SkyGarden is a popular venue with families as it boast both a wet and dry play space for kids. The play space was temporarily closed and a new refreshed playground was reopened in 2023. 

It offers a toddler play area, Pirate's Hangout, that features a pirate-themed main play structure. Kids can slide, swing and see-saw at this play space! There's also a water play option, Pirates Sea Adventure, where families will discover a Giant Octopus slide as well as a Pirate Ship structure for more splashing fun!

We can't wait for the playground to fully reopen in Oct 2023! So stay tune for more updates!

Kallang Wave Mall

The Kids Water Playground at Kallang Wave Mall is part of Splash-N-Surf, and is split into two distinctive play zones, a Kids Pool and Water Play Area. From the shallow pools for the little ones to the spiralling slides that spell total fun, the Kids Water Playground is everything your child wants.

The Kids pool measures just 0.6m in depth which makes it very comfortable and safe for the average 4 to 5-year-olds to take a dip in. The other major section of the park is the Water Play Area, which is entirely devoted to a two-storey water playground for the bold-spirited, adventure seekers.

North

Waterway Point

Waterway Point used to have an indoor play area, Kids' Wonderland, that is no longer available. However, families can still head over to Happy Park, an outdoor dry and water play area for kids to play at. It is located at level 2 where families can choose to play at the water play area where they can splash around the dipping pool or at the dry play area with slides and climbing structures. The playground is good-sized and great for the kids to run around to play catching too! 

Canberra Plaza

Location: Canberra Plaza, Level 3, 133 Canberra View, Singapore 750133

Located at Level 3 of Canberra Plaza is a water play venue with multiple water play equipment. Kids can go splashing around and after they are done, they can also head to the indoor play space located at the McDonald's at the mall too. 

Causeway Point

Location: Causeway Point, Level 7, Woodlands Square, Singapore 738099
Opening Hours: 10 am - 9 pm

Families can expect more fun and excitement in their next visit to Causeway Point with the opening of the new Dino-themed wet playground! Located at Level 7 of the mall, the playground includes slides, splashes and water sprouts designed as dinosaurs and more! 

The centerpiece of the playground is an Erupting Volcano that erupts with water - splashing water on the kids waiting below! Just like the giant buckets at other popular playgrounds, the kids will definitely get excited about this. 

Northpoint City

Opening Hours: 10.30am to 9.30pm (Closed on Mon)

Located at Level 4, Northpoint City’s wet and dry playground is located at the the roof of the complex. The wet play area is aquatic themed and boasts water slides and a water-dunking machine. Kids will have fun at the water features, water jets and fountains!

Parents will also be happy to know that there are seating areas around, where you can sit back, relax and watch your kids play. You can also clean your kids up at the shower facility that is located nearby. 

Seletar Mall

Location:  Seletar Mall, Level 4, 33 Sengkang West Ave, Singapore 797653
Opening Hours: 10 am - 10 pm

The free playground at Seletar Mall, can be found on level 4 and is partially sheltered. You will find slides, climbing nets, swings and more! It is not the largest or most well-equipped playground but you can head upstairs if you are at the mall! 

EAST

Parkway Parade

Location: 80 Marine Parade Road, Singapore 449269
Opening Hours: 24hrs

The marine-inspired playground at Parkway Parade includes a dolphin slide, octopus spring rides and even a pirate ship too. Kids will enjoy the slide, climbing structures and spring rides at the playground, or they may even pretend-play to be pirates and mermaids as they venture around the playground! 

Located the Level 1, the playground is outdoor and sheltered from the sun, but not the rain.

PLQ Mall

Location:  2 Tanjong Katong Road
Opening Hours: 9 am - 9 pm

Featuring plenty of fun and exciting play equipment, the Banyan Tree Playground @Paya Lebar Quarter (PLQ) Parkside is situated next to the PLQ3 building, which is just across PLQ Mall

The main attraction of this playground are the large nets that span from one end of the play structure to the other. There are lots of climbing elements, which the kids will definitely love getting up on and making their way to the top of the play structure - where the large nets and twisting slides are.

There's also swings and a toddler's area too! If you prefer the indoor setting, you may wish to head over to SMIGY, an indoor playground that is located within PLQ Mall. 

Changi Airport - Slide@T3

Location: Changi Airport Terminal 3, Basement 2
Opening Hours: 12 pm - 10.30 pm

The Slide@T3 consist of 2 slides. Kids can either go for the 4-storey tall slide which goes from the Arrival Hall at Level 1 to Basement 3, or the shorter one that starts from Basement 2. 

The shorter one is free while the longer slide requires you to be a Changi Rewards member to redeem. To redeem, simply show your Changi Rewards e-Card at Terminal 3 Customer Service Counter at Basement 2 to redeem 10 Slide Rides.

Kids must be at least 1.3m tall for the longer slide and 1.1m tall for the shorter one. There is a max. height limit of 2m, which means parents can go on too!

Our Tampines Hub

Location: Our Tampines Hub, 1 Tampines Walk, Singapore 528523
Opening Hours: 10 am - 10 pm

Our Tampines Hub boast not 1 but 3 Free Playgrounds. This includes an indoor playground in the basement where you will find slides, spring rockers, play panels and a climbing net, an inclusive playground on the Sky Terrace with a mini climbing wall, slide, small mounds, short tunnels, play panels, trampolines and a UFO spinner and  also a bouncy castle play venue at Kids Playzone on level 4. 

IKEA Tampines

Opening Hours: 11am – 8pm (On Weekdays), 11am-10pm (On Weekends)

Similar to IKEA Alexandra, IKEA Tampines has a fully equipped indoor playground, also called IKEA Smaland for kids!

The playground is located at the entrance of IKEA Tampines and only allows kids between 90 cm to 120 cm to enter. It gets pack quickly and you will need to leave your number before being contacted when a space is available. Compared to IKEA Alexandra, this playground at Tampines is bigger with more play equipment for the kids to play in! Kids will find a massive ballpit and slides as well as a movie area to chill at too!  

Changi City Point

The 3-House Playground at Changi City Point is an play area that consist of both a dry and wet playground and a tree-house trail, which comprises a small park built in a “tree-house” at Level 2. Watch your kids enjoy themselves while you relax with a meal at the overseeing food court. 

Eastpoint Mall

Location: Rooftop, 3 Simei Street 6, Singapore 528833

This free nautical-themed playground is located on the rooftop (level 6) of Eastpoint Mall. You will find a ship-like play structure with slides, swings and other climbing structures too. There will be lots of climbing with ropes and all! 

Compass One

Location: Compass One, Level 4, 1 Sengkang Square, Singapore 545078
Opening Hours: 10 am - 7 pm

The Ninja Trail located on Level 4 of Compass One is specifically designed for adventure seeking children between 2 to 12 years old! The trail features 17 water play features that promises an engaging and memorable experience!

Each play feature can be seen individually thus creating multiple play zones for for kids (and the sporting parents) to play in! 

Tampines 1

The rooftop water playground at Tampines 1 is sure to get the kids excited with its jungle-theme designed filled with water slides, mini pools, swings and more! Suitable for 5 to 12 years old, we believe parents will also enjoy themselves here too! 

Note that the rooftop is not open during rainy weather! 

SOUTH

Tiong Bahru Plaza

Located at Level 3 of Tiong Bahru Plaza is a simple, retro and sparrow themed playground. The playground is easily accessible, and while it is outdoors, it is fully sheltered and breezy! The playground is relatively small. The main structure consist of 1 slide, 1 swing, horizontal nets and spinning poles! Around the main structure are other play structures such as a trampoline, merry go round, and a multi-way see saw too! 

If you prefer to be indoors, you may also wish to check out SMIGY Tiong Bahru that is located within the mall too!

VivoCity

Location: 1 Harbourfront Walk, Levels 2, Singapore 098585
Opening Hours: 10 am - 10 pm

One of the most family-friendly malls, VivoCity boast not just family-friendly amenities and shops but a massive play space located at Level 2. The VivoCity Play Court is an outdoor playground includes wide slides and climbing structures as well as a trampoline section for kids to go jumping in! There is also a wet play section for the kids to go splashing in! 

Families can also choose to dine at one of the many restaurants that circle around the playground too! But do note that the playground gets pretty hot in the afternoons! 

IKEA Alexandra

It can be argued with IKEA Alexandra (and Tampines for that matter) is a mall, but given its size where you can eat and shop, we have included the indoor playground in this list too! 

IKEA Smaland is an enclosed area at the entrance of IKEA where you can drop off your kids to play while you go shopping. Kids will have to be between 90 cm - 120 cm to enter the playground - once inside they will enjoy a crafts station, ball pit and more! 

WEST

JEM 

Location: Jem, Level 5, 50 Jurong Gateway Road Singapore 608549

Families with children can have a great time too at Jem Play, a honeycomb-themed playground located at Level 5. Kids can climb across an exciting canopy, crawl through safe and fun nests and hammocks, making their own little nest world as they revel in an imaginative adventure with dry and water play amidst open spaces!

The play space features mini-scale tunnels, trampoline and a water play area consisting of shallow pool and fountain jets scattered around

IMM

Location: Level 3 Garden Plaza, IMM Shopping Mall, 2 Jurong East Street 21, Singapore 609601

Located at the Garden Plaza at Level 3 of IMM is a dry and water playground for kids to play at. The dry play area is well-shared and has a slide, merry-go-round, and climbing structures too. At the water play zone, you will find lots of water sprays and sprouts, as well as a mini slide to slide into the water too! 

Lot One Shoppers' Mall

Opening Hours: Monday to Friday, 12pm – 2pm and 5pm – 8pm; Saturday and Sunday, 12pm – 8pm.

Located on the rooftop garden of Lot One Shoppers’ Mall is an outdoor playground for kids to have fun at. In case you were looking for the water playground, do note that the playground has been renovated at the water play is no longer available.

The playground consist of a dry play area with 2 climbing structures and a hammock swing - not a large play space, but still enough for kids to have lots of fun! 

Westgate Mall

Location: Westgate Mall Level 4, 3 Gateway Drive, Singapore 608532

Westgate Wonderland is the largest thematic outdoor playground in a mall! You will find the playground located at Level 4 of Westgate Mall, where you won't miss the 10-metre tall tree house and other details that makes you think that you have entered a giant garden! 

Enter the flower pot, step of giant lily pods and discover more fun when you jump and climb around this beautifully designed playground. There's even a little wet play area where you get wet under the giant watering can! 

The Grandstand

The Grandstand is a wonderful place for families and young kids. Filled with various kids' classes, food choices and also a free outdoor playground! The playground includes swings, a merry-go-round and a play structure with slides too. What's interesting about the playground is the little "map" at the side of the playground with roads and paths where kids can pretend play with scooters and bikes (like at the road safety park).
