Get ready for the Cold Storage + Giant Kids Run 2023! This exciting event is returning to Palawan Green, Sentosa on 4 Jun 2023 from 8 am to 11 am and promises to be a day filled with fun, laughter, and plenty of activity! 

Not just a race, the Cold Storage + Giant Kids Run 2023 is designed to be an experience for the whole family, with carnival games booths and activities for all ages happening throughout the race day. 

Kids who participate in the race will receive race premiums worth $100, including a race t-shirt, goodie bag, medal, and more! For those who love a little friendly competition, there are also competitive race categories with a chance to win up to $400 worth of hamper and a trophy too! 2. Tiny Away Escape @ Lazarus Island

Venue: Lazarus Island

Starting from April 2023, the Tiny Away Escape @ Lazarus Island will be open for families to book and to stay. These five new "tiny houses" are the first accommodation units to be built on Lazarus Island for short-term stays, allowing families to discover a new experience in the idyllic Southern Islands. 

This is part of the new initiative to bring accommodation, amenities, and leisure activities to the Southern Islands for families and to give families access to almost 128 hectares of natural landscapes to explore on the connected islands of Seringat, Lazarus, St John’s and Kias.

Do note that the experience may be a little inconvenient at first because the other new amenities and activities, which include a convenience store, overnight glamping experiences and non-motorised water activities, will only be launched in phases around June 2023.

3. Visit Agape Little Uni. Open House For A Fun Day Out + Exclusive Enrolment Perks

4. Visit A Ramadan Bazaar as a Family

Ramadan started on 23 Mar 2023 with several Ramadan bazaars happening in April, including the popular Geylang Serai Ramadan Bazaar which will run till 21 Apr 2023. Not just the massive bazaars, families can also expect smaller-scale bazaars happening across the island. This is a good chance to bring the family out to experience the festivities and food as you explore different bazaars together as a family!

5. Go On An Exclusive Behind-The-Scene Factory Tour

Venue: Various

Open My Factory brings participants behind the scene to some of Singapore's interesting industries. Started as part of the annual My Community Festival, the tours are back as a regular programme from Apr 2023! 

Families can look forward to visiting factories like Dodo Seafood Treats, Eng Hup Shipping, Lee Wee & Brothers, Tai Hua Soy Sauce, Tower Transit and Freshening Industries for the first wave of tours! 

6. Join in a da:ns focus – EveryBody Workshop

Venue: Esplanade

There is no better way to fall in love with dance than to explore a new genre for yourself! Head down to the da:ns focus at the Esplanade to take part in various dance activities and workshops for ages! There will be free and paid programmes where you can take the first step to dance! So head on down to the Espalanade in April to experience dance through these engaging and experiential dance workshops, led by experienced Singapore dance instructors. 

7. Visit The Newly Opened Shaw Plaza and Playground

Reopening after 3+ years, Shaw Plaza is located along Balestier Road and the revamped mall will offer a number of lifestyle and entertainment options for families in the area including an outdoor playground, theatre, dining options and enrichment centres. 

Shaw Theatres Balestier will open on 30 March 2023 with 11 halls, and will feature six regular halls, four Lumiere halls, and one Dreamers hall. Dreamers halls are specially designed with families in mind! Also located at level 3 is the Sky Terrace, a green outdoor space that include seats and a playground for the little ones to play at.

8. The Artground's new exhibition Clean up, or else!

The popular Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day is back after 4 years! This one-day offer will be happening at the VivoCity Scoop Shop on 3 April 2023 from 12 pm to 8 pm only!

10. Step Into A World Of Colour At S.E.A. Aquarium

From 1 April to 21 May 2023, step into a Sea of Unseen Colours and learn how plankton help to sustain other marine inhabitants including manta rays, sea jellies and corals. Get in-depth insights into these tiny life forms and watch them come to life through augmented reality and as well as cute and colourful illustrations! 

Till 25 May 2023, kids can also put sleuthing skills to the test with the Junior Ocean Detective programme as they taking on the role of “trainee detectives” and go on a two-hour investigative trail at the S.E.A. Aquarium to unravel marine-animal mysteries. Children will also get the chance to meet an aquarist during a back-of-house visit and understand the importance of marine conservation.

11. Join Well Commune: Shenton - A Month-long Pop-up Wellness Event

Well Commune: Shenton, a month-long pop-up wellness sanctuary in the heart of Singapore, is a first-of-its-kind ‘healing playground’, a place where people of all ages can experience a variety of healing methods and to explore alternative well-being therapies through different transdisciplinary practices of art, music, tech, lifestyle and healing.

There are various workshops, talks, events and more, and specifically, families can expect pop-up play and puppet show, dance playgroup, and more. 

12. PLAYtime! Series: Just As I Am

Z and B are quite alike, but Z wonders why he can't be perfect while B is confident about who she is. Journey with Z and B in a theatrical dance performance and discover the joys of celebrating and loving all the wonderfully special parts of your unique selves.

This PLAYtime series dance performance may include the occasional use of text. There will also be move-along moments which children can choose to participate in, with the support of their accompanying adults.

Note that audiences will be seated on the floor and tickets are required for everyone, including infant-in-arms. 

13. PetExpo For All Pets

PetExpo is taking over a bigger space this year with many new vendors and activities to look forward to. Occupying 10,000 square metres of exhibition space across the entire Singapore Expo Hall 6, this year's edition of PetExpo will feature a full programme of activities with a common theme of improving the well-being of pets, as well as educating pet owners on how they can effectively do so.

The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) will conduct free pet health checks and share more about pet health, and the importance of regular health checks. There will also be a variety of themed booths that cover AVS’ work, including promoting responsible pet ownership, the importance of licensing and microchipping, and enhancing capabilities in animal training and husbandry.

14. Visit the Sakura at Gardens by the Bay

Inspired by the theme of train travel, this year’s Sakura floral display will see Flower Dome transformed into a landscape evocative of a scenic train journey across the most beautiful spots of Japan. To complement the cherry blossom viewing experience, visitors can also look forward to enjoying a lineup of Japanese-themed activities, such as cultural experiences held in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Singapore’s Japan Creative Centre.

Families can also try to spot all-time favourite Pokémon characters Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Eevee, Snorlax, and of course, Pikachu, in the Pokémon Forest at our Sakura floral display!

15. Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts Statues

In anticipation of the launch of blockbuster movie, Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts launching in Singapore cinemas and worldwide, United International Pictures Singapore gives fans an early kick-off by being the first stop in Asia to showcase two majestic life-size statues of Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal as a part of the Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts Statues World Tour.

These stunning, never-before-seen Transformers statues will be on display from 17 March to 10 April, 2023 surrounded by the foliage and other-worldly Supertrees at the Silver Leaf Garden.

16. Go On The Refreshed Toa Payoh Heritage Trail

Admission: Free

The refreshed Toa Payoh Heritage Trail covers 29 heritage sites and features 10 heritage trail markers, with two new marked sites comprising Block 53, also known as the “VIP Block”, and the iconic Toa Payoh Dragon Playground.

A pioneering “showpiece” for Singapore’s public housing; a classic dragon design that has become synonymous with our local playgrounds; a town park that paved the way for parks and other green spaces in public housing estates; the host village for Singapore’s first major international sporting competition; and the location of the first NTUC Fairprice supermarket.

There are 3 newly curated thematic routes will bring trail-goers on different journeys. The Toa Payoh Heritage Trail’s companion guide and map can be downloaded from NHB’s heritage portal Roots.gov.sg.

19. Visit the Reopened Water Play at Waterway Point

Head outdoors at Level 2 of Waterway Point and you will discover Happy Park, an outdoor dry and wet play area for the kids to run around and get wet! 20. Discover a Wonderland of Music, Lights and Nature at ION Orchard

Get ready to step into a world of enchantment at ION Orchard's Spring Garden at ION2 from 7 April to 7 May! This breath-taking outdoor spring garden is the perfect backdrop for photos, with a giant waterfall that cascades over two storeys.

Families can expect a spectacular lightshow over five weekends — every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday between 7:00pm and 9:30pm, with a 30-minute interval between each show. As the spectacular 8-minute visual spectacle unfolds, shoppers will be swept away by a symphony of beautiful and familiar soundtracks, mist effects, and vibrant projections, providing the perfect reason for photos and a fun-filled time for family and friends.
