From camps, workshops and events to promotions to reap benefits from, here’s a list of ideas to keep both the kids and yourself entertained during the PSLE Marking Days!

The PSLE Marking Days are from 18 Oct to 21 Oct 2021 with an extra school holiday, this means that the primary school kids will be away from school for 5 days (or 9 days if you count the weekend)! Do something fun and memorable and give your little ones (and yourself) a respite from all that studying with these activities! 

1. Japan Rail Fair | Travel To Japan Virtually

This October, The Japan Rail Fair is back for its second edition and promises an exhilarating ride of free and ticketed live stream programmes! Follow hosts in Japan as they bring you across multiple prefectures and share sights, sounds and tips! 

For those who yearn to taste Japan, a special selection of ekiben (railway bento) will be available for dine-in guests at Japan Rail Cafe too. With travel unlikely to resume soon, this is a great opportunity for families to visit Japan this upcoming school holidays!

2. Universal Studios Singapore | Trick or Thrills

Apart from the usual movie magic, experience Trick or Thrills this Halloween at Universal Studios Singapore.

Catch the new appearance of Illumination’s Wolfman Minion along with the other Minion Monsters during the popular Minion Monsters Tricky Treats, so get ready your best poses for some photos. You can also embark on a fun and exciting trick-or-treating adventure with the return of Trail of Treats. Collect delectable treats from Candy Ambassadors who are all so ready to hand them out.

3. National Gallery Singapore | Kid-friendly Interactive Kinetic Zones

The Keppel Centre for Art Education at the National Gallery Singapore has re-opened its doors and though some exhibits remain temporarily suspended, they have launched a new exhibit, the Art Playscape

Happy Children’s Day! Looking for a fun day out with the kids? Come down to the Gallery and embark on your very own INK-credible Adventure at Art Playscape - our newest experience at Keppel Centre for Art Education. Through a series of interactive kinetic zones, children will be able to discover and learn about gestures, movement, and spontaneity in the creative process through play. Snap your fingers, clap your hands and stomp your feet as watch how your gestures and movements transform into colourful strokes that swirl across the space. When you’re there, why not pop over to Ink Studio – a workshop space just next door - and experiment with the different ways to create an ink painting, from using brushes to unconventional tools like robots! The exhibit features a series of interactive kinetic zones through which little ones will get to learn about gestures and movement. If you would like to go exploring with your kids, be sure to get your tickets or register your visit, if you’re a local resident, online before your trip to the Gallery.

4. Tanglin Mall | FAM-BAM Celebrations

Time at home is made better with Kidz Treehouse's virtual nature learning experience! In this one-hour e-Xplorers programme, children will embark on a virtual park tour at Sengkang Riverside park – home to majestic wildlife, verdant meadows and exotic wildlife while harnessing the power of creativity through our forest school inspired craft activities while being at home.

 

 

 You will be doing different craft activities for each dates. 

  • 20 Oct (purchase by 15 Oct– Explore different aquatic plants and its uses and create your own loom coaster out of woven materials. Includes a Woven coaster activity kit
  • 22 Oct (purchase by 17 Oct) – Learn about floating wetlands, its benefits and get hands-on creating your own hydroponics system. Includes a Hydroponics activity kit.

6. Kidodo Playground | Additional Free Play Time

Kidodo Playground located at City Square Mall is a newly opened indoor playground. While it is not one of the largest, the playground offers a fun packed experience and numerous play elements to keep the kids wanting more! 

 

Suitable for kids 0 to 10 yrs old, kids may enjoy additional 15 to 30 mins free play time when you purchase the Kidodo Weekday Admission on BYKidO. More fun for less! Just don't forget to make a booking before your visit to avoid disappointment!

7. Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre | Discover More about The Chinese Singaporean Culture

You can also explore SCCC’s newest series of sketches from home featuring the encounters of Little Otter and his friends around Singapore. Created by popular local illustrator JangandFox, the series is based on ten key family values such as filial piety, kindness, love, and courtesy, among others. Available in both English and Mandarin, the whimsical drawings make for both fun and illuminating read for both kids and adults alike.

9. Spring Rolls Trampoline | Pop-up Trampoline Park

A pop-up trampoline and obstacle park is opened at Basement 1, Forum The Shopping Mall. Managed by Spring Rolls Trampoline, the play area includes trampolines and a mini-obstacle course for kids to jump, tumble and have fun! 

The park is fully automated and charges $15 per pax per entry. This means there is unlimited play time but there is no re-entry. We highly recommend the kids to use the bathroom before entering the play area. 

10. Book Stop | Optical Illusion Camp (Virtual)

Fee $49 + $4 for delivery of STEM Kit 

As the saying goes, eyes are the windows in the heart. We see and find mystery in the nature of our eyes. Let us begin our adventure and find out how our eyes trick us!

Introduce your kids into the world of STEM/ STEAM research and analytical thinking through a series of fun science tricks all revolving around Optical Illusions! Suitable for 7 to 12 year old, this Optical Illusion Camp will be conducted virtually with a Optical Illusion Kit (worth $22.90) sent to you before the camp to complete the experience.

11. Visit A Outdoor Playground
