The eagerly awaited annual children's festival, March On 2024, is back at Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay, featuring an array of free and ticketed programmes designed for children aged 0 to 14 years.

Happening across the March school holidays, this is an annual arts festival for families that should not be missed! The festival presents specially commissioned immersive experiences by homegrown companies as well as international co-productions and presentations exploring the themes of home, adventure and coming of age.   

Families can expect visually stunning dance, music, and theatre performances as well as LARP (Live action role playing), storytelling, roving performances and pop-up installations, there's definitely something for every child and every family.

On weekend evenings, families can also chill out at the Courtyard Green along the waterfront for picnic and enjoy free performances together too! A great way to create family fun while introducing little ones to the arts! 

The Five Footway Festival returns to Chinatown

The Five Footway Festival is returning to Chinatown Singapore from 9 to 17 Mar 2024, featuring many enjoyable and engaging activities suitable for visitors of all ages. 

At the festival, families will gain a deeper understanding of Singapore’s largest conservation district, life along the Five Footway, clans and associations, as well as the traditional trades of Chinatown. In tandem with the launch of the 4th Happy Meal Readers Programme book series, “I Can Dream Big”, McDonald’s is thrilled to offer interactive storytelling sessions hosted at participating McDonald’s family restaurants across five days from 9 to 17 March.

The newest addition to the series, "I Can Be an Astronaut," highlights the remarkable journeys of two legendary astronauts: Neil Armstrong and Sally Ride. From Armstrong's first steps on the moon to Ride's pioneering space voyage, each embarked on their own extraordinary quests fuelled by distinct dreams.

Marina Square’s Signature Balloon Extravaganza Enchants with a Magical Realm

Step into the enchanting world of knights, dragons, and castle from the 9th to 17th of March 2024 as Marina Square’s annual Balloon Exhibition is back this March school holidays with a display of fascinating balloon creations!

Families can channel their inner hero and play out their own fairytale at Marina Square’s 6,500-square-foot central atrium, where a magnificent castle, galloping knights, and breathtaking dragons await. The central atrium will be encircled by grand castle walls, where open portcullises beckon visitors into a magical realm. This enchanting structure, crafted entirely from balloons, invites guests to wander into a world where dreams and imagination take flight.

This enchanting display, crafted by 60 talented balloon artists from 9 countries, features approximately 250,000 balloons and offers plenty of photo-taking opportunities - so come dressed up to the theme and capture those wonderful memories! Costumes are also available for rental at $5, subject to costume size and availability, on a first-come-first-served basis.

Parents are invited to learn how to make adorable balloon creations with their child in a 1.5-hour long Balloon Workshop featuring a different theme each day! Have a Car-Free Sunday at the Civic and Central Business Districts

From 8am to 2pm on 17 March, families who visit the 2 main event spaces along St Andrew’s Road and Esplanade Drive, can participate in various activities put together by LTA and partners. From games to inline skating and aeromodelling, there will be activities catered to visitors of different ages. 

Designated roads will also be closed to traffic from 8 am to 11 am to allow visitors to walk, run or cycle on these roads too!

So come on down to explore the Peranakan Pasar and try traditional and modern flavours, discover the cooking and dining culture of the Peranakan communities at our night market, and craft food-themed textiles and jewellery. Or just sit back and relax as you enjoy outdoor performances and interactive artworks! The party continues throughout March at the Peranakan Museum with specially curated communal dining experiences.

Timezone Happiness Carnival

To kick-off Timezone Singapore’s Month of Happiness is the Happiness Carnival taking place from 8 – 10 March at Timezone Orchard Exchange. Over this weekend which coincides with the start of school holidays, guests can expect a delightful experience with exciting games, food, and mini competitions.

Following this, the festivities will be extended in the form of mini carnivals to different locations every weekend throughout the month, making sure that no one misses out on their daily dose of happiness.
