1. Catch The National Day Celebrations - At Marina Bay & In The Heartlands

Venue: The Float@Marina Bay, selected Heartlands
Date: 9 Aug 2022
Admission: Free

The National Day Parade (NDP) 2022 will be held on 9 August 2022 at The Float@Marina Bay. Families can expect the Red Lions, aerial fly past, marching contingents, spectacular performances, fireworks and more! Beyond the spectators at the parade (and TV sets), families can also experience the parade in person at the heartlands too! 

There will be five heartland locations to have pyrotechnic displays from 8.15 pm - 8.25 pm on 9 Aug. These are:

  • Jurong West Stadium
  • Woodlands Stadium
  • Bedok Stadium
  • Open field infront of Ang Mo Kio library
  • Former Tampines Junior College

Families can also witness the Red Lions freefall over two fields at around 9 am on 9 Aug - next to Junction 8 in Bishan and along North Buona Vista Road near Ghim Moh Market and Food Centre. In the evening, look up into the sky to spot the state flag carried by chinooks and F-16 fighter jets executing a fighter island flypast across the nation! 

2. Celebrate At The National Day 2022 Heartland Carnival

Venue: Selected Heartlands
Date: 6 & 7 Aug 2022
Admission: Free but ticketed

This year’s National Day celebration is themed "Stronger Together, Majulah!", will kick off on the weekend of Aug 6 and 7, with heartland carnivals organised at 5 locations around the island. The carnivals will be held at the following venues: 

  • Open Field next to Sembawang MRT
  • Open Field next to Buona Vista MRT
  • Open Field next to Punggol Waterway Point
  • Bishan-AMK Park, Ficus Green
  • Wisma Geyland Serai

Collect your tickets from 14 July 2022, 10 am from your nearest participating CCs to receive coupons for the carnivals and for redeeming NDP packs. Otherwise, you can apply for eTickets online from 23 July 2022, 10 am, but note that these do not come with coupons or NDP packs.

3. Visit The Newly Restored Bukit Timah Train Station

The Bukit Timah Railway Station and Railway Staff Quarters has reopened to the public after a 2-years restoration. Families can enjoy the heritage gallery at the old railway station and relax at the cafe inside the former staff quarters, as well as enjoy community spaces. 

Built in 1932, the conserved Bukit Timah Railway Station building retains its original features. The building, along with its key architectural and railway elements, has been carefully restored and repurposed as a heritage gallery for visitors to learn about its history and that of the Rail Corridor. 

The conserved Railway Staff Quarters, a former staff housing block, has been repurposed into a café with a rustic and relaxed ambience. At 1932 Story Cafe, families can enjoy a selection of local and fusion fare while immersing themselves in the history and heritage of the site. 

4. Visit Little Lions Preschool - A New Preschool / After-School Care At East Coast

6. Attend the Returning BYKidO Mummy Meet-Up

7. Enjoy An Open Gym Session at Kinder Klasse

Located at PAssion Wave @ Marina Bay, Kinder Klasse is a gym school that offers an open gym session for kids between 7 months to 7 years old. In this 1-hour unstructured play experience, children will be able to explore the entire gym at their own pace - enjoying the gym's indoor playground facilities like the Bouncy Castle, Trampoline, Ball Pit, Rockwall, Slide and Swing!

Trainers will also be setting up different challenges each day on the other side of the gym floor where they can balance on planks, crawl through tunnels, go through mini obstacle courses, tumble on our soft play mats or just chilling on the rockers. 8. Experience Skimboarding At The Newly Opened Skim Alley

Skim Alley is Singapore’s first and only flatland skimboarding pool facility situated in the quiet and rustic venue in Heritage Chalet along Pasir Ris Beach. Not only is it a trending activity for the adults, it is also great for a day of fun for families too! 

At Skim Alley, families can try skimboarding at their purpose-built flatland skimboarding pool facility. Grab a board (provided) and glide across the surface of water that is just a few centimeters high - you will feel like you are skipping across the surface of water as you try to stay balanced! The SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon (SSBR & AHM) will return this year as a virtual run from 25 September to 23 October 2022. 20. Admire Mid-Autumn Festival Lantern Installation at Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall

Happening at the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall's lawn, Celestial Bodies is an outdoor installation comprising spherical lanterns featuring five of the artist’s characters: Moon, Earth, Sun, Saturn and Mercury. The installation pays tribute to the moon which is at its brightest and roundest on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
