National Day 2022 Heartland Celebrations - Fireworks, Red Lions, Carnivals and Ticket Collection Details

Families can expect lots of activities and festivities at the heartlands as the nation celebrate its 57th birthday!

The National Day Parade 2022 might be happening at the Marina Bay, Floating Platform on 9 Aug 2022 but the excitement and festivities are coming to the heartlands from 6 Aug 2022! 

There will be lots of National Day happenings across the island! Families can expect massive carnivals at 5 locations island-wide, fireworks at another 5 different locations, the Red Lions landing at 2 locations and more! Read on to find out where and when can you enjoy these fun activities!

Heartland Carnivals

Dates: 6 & 7 Aug 2022

This year’s National Day celebrations, themed "Stronger Together, Majulah!", will kick off on the weekend of Aug 6 and 7, with heartland celebrations organised at 5 locations around the island in partnership with the People’s Association.

The carnivals will be held at the following venues: 

• Open Field next to Sembawang MRT
• Open Field next to Buona Vista MRT
• Open Field next to Punggol Waterway Point
• Bishan-AMK Park, Ficus Green
• Wisma Geyland Serai

Collect your tickets from 14 July 2022, 10 am from your nearest participating CCs to receive coupons for the carnivals and for redeeming NDP packs. Otherwise, you can apply for eTickets online from 23 July 2022, 10 am, but note that these do not come with coupons or NDP packs. 

There will be enjoy performances and family activities as well as exhibitions and a “static display” of platforms by the Singapore Armed Forces and the Home Team!

Things To Note For Ticket Collection

We collected our tickets and here are some things that we note.

• Tickets are for specific carnival venues. We collected our tickets at TPY and it states that it is for the carnival at Bishan-AMK Park. 
• Each person can collect 2 tickets (they asked for our IC)
• Bring a photo ID along when collecting tickets
• Each ticket states that it admits one pax only 
• Tickets can be used to redeem one NDP pack. There is a stub, so don't lose it

Red Lions Freefall

Dates: 7 Aug 2022

Families who live around Bishan and Ghim Moh can look out their windows and try to spot the Red Lions as they freefall over 2 fields! They will be jumping at around 9 am on 7 Aug 2022. 

The 2 locations are the fields next to Junction 8 in Bishan and along North Buona Vista Road near Ghim Moh Market and Food Centre.

Heartland Fireworks

Dates: 9 Aug 2022

In addition to the fireworks at the floating platform, families can also expect five heartland locations to have pyrotechnic displays on 9 August 2022! These locations are:

• Jurong West Stadium
• Woodlands Stadium
• Bedok Stadium
• Open field infront of Ang Mo Kio library
• Former Tampines Junior College

The fireworks will happen concurrently with the ones at Marina Bay, for 10 minutes from 8:15pm to 8:25pm on 9 Aug 2022.

Chinook Flypast + F16 Delta Formation

Dates: 9 Aug 2022

Chinook helicopters will execute the iconic flypast of the state flag across Singapore between 5.25 pm to 6.15 pm. 2 helicopters will be going across the island with one  covering the western half of the country, and another over the eastern half.

The western route will cover areas including Bukit Panjang, Bukit Timah, Kranji, Choa Chu Kang, Jurong and West Coast while the eastern route will go over Khatib, Sengkang, Punggol, Bedok, Pasir Ris, Changi and East Coast

Between 5.50pm and 6.15pm, six F-16 fighter jets will cross the nation in a delta formation
