What's New and Upcoming in Singapore 2025 - Let's take a look at the exciting family-friendly attractions and experiences coming to Singapore!

It is just the starting of the year and we are already looking forward to several exciting new attractions and experiences for families and everyone to enjoy! From the lush Rainforest Wild Asia to the much anticipated Minion Land, Singaporeans and visitors to our Little Red Dot can look forward to a 2025 filled with so many new things to do!

1. Minion Land at Resorts World Sentosa

Fans of the Minions rejoice! Illumination's Minion Land will open at Universal Studios Singapore in Feb 2025. Look forward to multiple Minion-themed and exclusive rides across 3 distinct areas such as Minion Marketplace, Gru’s Neighbourhood, and Super Silly Fun Land.

From exploring Gru’s laboratory to trying the first-ever Minion dance party-themed carousel, Buggie Boogie - you probably want to make plans to visit Minion Land once they open! 

2. Super Nintendo World Singapore

Venue: Universal Studios Singapore

Back in 2019, Universal Studios Singapore unveils plans to build two new, highly themed and immersive environments based on hugely popular entertainment concepts, Minion Land and Super Nintendo World. These new and expansive areas will feature all-audience and family-friendly attractions as well as themed shops and restaurants. 

Minion Land, as we have shared above, will be opening on 14 Feb 2025, but the fate of Super Nintendo World remains less known. A press release from Universal Studios Japan confirms that Super Nintendo World Singapore is still on the cards, but there is still no updates on dates - well it seems highly unlikely to be in 2025 given the lack of news so far. But stay tune and we will share more when we hear of it! 

3. Singapore Oceanarium

Expected Opening: 23 July 2025

Mark your calendar for 23 July 2025 – that's when the Singapore Oceanarium officially opens its doors at Resorts World Sentosa, inviting everyone to dive deep into an immersive marine adventure like never before.

From the moment you step into the Oceanarium, you’ll be taken on an incredible journey across 22 immersive zones where you can travel through time from prehistoric seas to today’s vibrant marine ecosystems, and spanning across space from shallow waters to the deep sea.

Whether you’re visiting with toddlers, curious tweens, or ocean-loving teens, the Singapore Oceanarium offers something for every age. 

4. Disney Adventure Cruise - Inaugural Cruise in December 2025

Bookings have started a year in advance, and we are closing in on the inaugural Disney Adventure Cruise setting sail from Singapore on 15 December 2025. If you managed to book a cruise date, great for you! 

Get ready for 7 uniquely themed areas onboard to explore, each with different beloved Disney characters. Experience dazzling live shows, signature Disney dining and action-packed kids clubs that only Disney can create. 

There will be dedicated spaces and clubs for kids, tweens and teens, as well as premium dining, lounge and spa experiences for the adults.

5. Rainforest Wild Asia

Rainforest Wild Asia offers a unique rainforest adventure with immersive animal encounters and adrenaline-pumping experiences for the whole family. 

Across 10 different zones, families will get to navigate a multi-layered rainforest adventure, where animal encounters turn into delightful surprises. By tuning in to nature’s subtle cues, visitors learn to seek out wildlife hidden among the trees and foliage.

There's also the Adventure Plus experiences where families can engage in more adventure like stepping off a 20m platform, play at the open bouncing play area and crawl through a 60m cave tunnel! 

6. Mandai Boardwalk

Venue: Mandai Wildlife Reserve

Explore the new Mandai Boardwalk at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, a perfect peaceful destination for families. Located at Mandai Wildlife East, this is a public area that is free for families to visit and explore. 

The boardwalk celebrates the fascinating connection between the forest and water ecosystems through five thematic stations and a lookout point along the route. 

As you walk along, the meandering 3.3km Mandai Boardwalk skirts the perimeter of River Wonders and Singapore Zoo and provides visitors with a peaceful space to observe local wildlife along the edge of the Reservoir, and to catch glimpses of some of the animals being cared for inside the Singapore Zoo.

7. Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree

The Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree is located just a short drive from the city centre and nestled within the Mandai Wildlife Reserve, the 4.6-hectare resort provides direct access to renowned zoological parks such as Singapore Zoo, Night Safari, River Wonders, Bird Paradise and the upcoming Rainforest Wild.  

Drawing inspiration from the rainforest’s natural layers, the 338-room resort seamlessly integrates with its luxuriant forest scape designed around the mature trees on the site. 

The resort houses 314 guest rooms and suites as well as 24 tree houses, each with its own private patio while hovering above ground. Staying at Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree also unlocks exclusive wildlife experiences across the Mandai Wildlife Reserve.

8. Chinatown Heritage Centre

Nestled in the heart of Singapore’s bustling Chinatown, the Chinatown Heritage Centre brings the district’s rich history to life within three beautifully restored shophouses on Pagoda Street.

Reopened in Feb 2025, families will discover every corner of the centre steeped in the memories of yesteryear, offering an immersive journey into the lives of Chinatown’s earliest residents.

The centre is divided into three main zones, each offering a unique perspective on the migrant experience

  • Zone 1: Shophouse Living (Level 1 & 2) – Step into the humble homes of early settlers and experience daily life in a traditional shophouse.
  • Zone 2: Arrival and Settling In (Level 3) – Follow the journey of Chinese immigrants as they navigated new challenges in Singapore.
  • Zone 3: Migrants’ End & Heritage Brands (Level 2) – Discover how these migrants shaped Chinatown’s identity, from traditional trades to enduring local brands.

So make a trip down and discover history in a fun new way! 

9. Pek Kio Park

Nestled in the heart of Singapore’s Pek Kio neighborhood along Cambridge Road, Pek Kio Park has undergone a major transformation and officially reopened in January 2025.

The park now stands as a vibrant green space offering nature-based recreation, relaxation, and wellness for residents of all ages. Designed with inclusivity in mind, the rejuvenated park features a variety of recreational offerings to encourage outdoor activity and social interaction.

For kids, the nature play area will be a highlight, allowing kids to explore and play with natural elements, fostering creativity and physical development in a green, imaginative space. While here, do look out for the Bee Hotel, providing a safe habitat for solitary bees, essential pollinators in the ecosystem.

Just next to the park is the Pek Kio Market and Food Centre, a popular spot known for its diverse selection of affordable and delicious traditional Singaporean dishes, attracting both locals and tourists.

10. Keppel Coastal Trail at Labrador Nature Park

Venue: Labrador Nature Park

Located at Labrador Nature Park, the 340m-long Keppel Coastal Trail opens in late Jan and offers family another option to explore this popular park. 

The trail consists of a 90m-long elevated wheelchair-accessible boardwalk with views of the sea and a 250m-long path which brings visitors through a coastal beach forest habitat. 

Interpretative signage along the trail provides information about flora and fauna that can be sighted in the area, such as the White-bellied Sea Eagle (Haliaeetus leucogaster) and the Paradise Tree Snake (Chrysopelea paradisi).

11. Dig Dig Land - Construction-themed Playground at Jurong

Opened in Jan 2025, Dig Dig Land, located at Jurong Play Grounds (JPG), is a 4000 square-foot construction-themed outdoor playground for children aged 2 and above. The playground offers hands-on experiences like an excavator digging zone and a kid-friendly fishing area, it allows kids to explore, learn, and enhance motor skills in a safe environment. 

Dig Dig Land operates on Fridays, weekends, and select public holidays, offering 1-hour time slot till 6 pm. From the website, it looks like there are plans to introduce a "night shift" experiences, but information on this is not available yet. 

12. Jolly Jungle - Playground in a Library

Looking for a fun and engaging way to entertain your children indoors? Look no further than Jolly Jungle Indoor Playground, a brand new addition to the vibrant Our Tampines Hub in Singapore's east side! Located at the new iMall at Marine Parade Central, HappyWiz Indoor Playground occupies the entire 4th floor of the mall across 2 levels making it one of the largest and tallest indoor playgrounds in Singapore. 

The first impression of HappyWiz Indoor Playground is that it is massive. The play structures goes up to 5 levels (we were told about 7.5m high) with a spiral slide that comes down from high above!

SMIGY Indoor Playground United Square shifts to a new location at Level B1, just under Starbucks in 2025.

Younger kids will be excited by the huge ball-pit filled balls of different colours. . From throwing the balls at the interactive wall to filling up the "space" ball picker. we are sure the young ones (and older ones too) will get stuck in this zone for quite some time.

Families can also spend hours "digging" and "scooping" at the new hinoki beads, sand play area. We really love this part of the playground for the natural lighting and view outside of the glass panels! 

27. Canberra Cove & Forest Gym

Here's a fantastic little gem in Choa Chu Kang that’s perfect for budding cyclists, scooter enthusiasts, and little learners. Prepare to be surprised by the Mini-Road Safety Playground at Choa Chu Kang – it’s not just a playground; it’s a miniature road circuit designed to teach kids about road safety in the most fun way possible!

Nestled in front of Block 208 Choa Chu Kang Central, the playground offers a unique experience. Imagine a scaled-down road system complete with all the markings you’d find on a real road: directional arrows, zebra crossings, stop lines, and even yellow boxes (if you don't know, vehicles are not allowed to stop in the yellow box). 

35. Punggol Coast Mall

Opened in Mar 2025 and boasting over 120 retail, dining, and entertainment options, Punggol Coast Mall promises a vibrant experience for families living and visiting Punggol. Located next to Punggol Coast MRT, the mall offers an open-air plaza that also serves as a community space for performances, pop-up bazaars, and social gatherings.

36. KADA at Maxwell

Steeped in historic charm, KADA is an eclectic enclave housed within a 101-year-old conserved heritage building that boasts a unique triangular atrium and Singapore’s oldest electric lift that was built in 1929.

Eluding an old-school charm mixed with modernity, Kada features 18 offerings that include restaurants and cafés, a specialised post-workout muscle recovery studio, a boutique pilates studio, a fully equipped gym, an art appreciation space, and 18 co-living rooms.

If your kids are fascinated by trains, this might just be their dream staycation! One of Singapore’s retired MRT carriages—once part of the North-South and East-West Line—is now being turned into a boutique-style hotel.

Train Pod @ one-north has kept much of the original train interior, including the driver’s seat and control panel. You can even watch real-life footage of the train in action during its service years—perfect for a little blast from the past or a fun teachable moment with your little ones.

39. Colugo Park @ Mandai WIldlife Reserve

42. New Ice Rink Facility at Pandan Gardens

Expected Opening: 2026

Reported by Straits Times, a new Olympic-sized ice rink is being planned for construction in Pandan Gardens with the former Pandan Gardens Swimming Complex identified as a potential site.

Since the closure of JCube, the only ice rink is located at Kallang Leisure Park. The proposed new facility will feature 2 rinks, including the only Olympic-sized rink in Singapore and smaller rink measuring one-third of the Olympic size.

But we won't be seeing this soon as construction is scheduled to begin in Mar 2025 and is expected to be completed in 2026. 

43. Porsche Experience Centre

Expected Opening: 2027

Porsche announces the first regional Porsche Experience Centre, set to open in Singapore in 2027. Located next to Changi Exhibition Centre, this will be the 11th Porsche Experience Centre (PEC) worldwide. 

The new PEC Singapore will offer a range of thrilling activities for families and dynamic experiences for car enthusiasts both locally and within the Southeast Asian region. This includes a dynamic handling track over two kilometres in length, an ideal facility for highlighting the prowess of the two- and four-door Porsche sports cars. 

Families can also look forward to an array of experiences such as themed exhibitions, periodically-changing display cars from the legendary archives of the Porsche Museum, immersive racing simulators and a variety of dining options

44. NS Square

Expected Opening: 2027

The redevelopment of a floating platform at Marina Bay into NS Square was initially announced in 2017. Construction on the NS Square venue has started and is expected to be completed by 2027.

When completed, NS Square will house a permanent stage and grandstand for large-scale annual events like the National Day Parade and Marina Bay year-end countdown. The venue will also feature eateries and a water sports centre for canoeing, kayaking and dragon-boating as well as an elevated swimming pool.

While completion is still a couple of years away, we already can't wait to see what the venue will offer for families! 

    45. Haven XR

    Haven XR is the world’s first cinematic immersive experience that will be opening in Singapore and Malaysia in 2024! With a promise to be a revolutionary cinematic experience, HavenXR makes use of Location-Based Virtual Reality (LBVR) to bring audiences along an immersive journey where they're not merely viewers, but integral parts of the movie itself.

    In the experience, you, the viewer, makes the choices that determine the storyline - a cinematic choose-your-own-adventure experience where you can engage your senses and change the virtual realm you are in. The first experience on offer is The Keeper – a horror flick and other ideas and scripts will be launch progressively. 

    It was slated to launch in 2024 in Malaysia and Singapore but there has not been any updates since. Let's keep our ears open for updates!

    The National Library Board (NLB), in collaboration with JTC and local board games company Origame, has just unveiled a brand-new Comics and Games Library at Punggol Coast Mall.
