Set to open in December 2025, IMBA’s new venue will be the latest attraction at Gardens by the Bay, merging technology, art, and storytelling to redefine how audiences connect with art and culture in Singapore

Step into a world of multi-sensory experiences with IMBA Theatre. Set to be Singapore’s first venue dedicated to large-scale, multi-sensory experiences, IMBA Theatre is designed to bring families closer to the worlds of art, culture, and storytelling – in ways that are exciting and extraordinary.
What Is IMBA Theatre?
IMBA stands for Immersive Media Based Arts, and it’s not just another theatre – it’s a creative playground where technology, imagination, and emotions come together. Created by local edutainment group H&B, IMBA Theatre will present year-round shows and exhibitions that invite audiences at Gardens by the Bay to not just watch, but experience art from all angles.
It will be a versatile space that uses technology and creativity to showcase local and global exhibitions, performances and more. Audiences are encouraged to engage with art in new and meaningful ways at this premier destination.
What’s Inside IMBA Theatre
The versatile IMBA Theatre integrates cutting-edge digital and media technology to create a larger-than-life environment that presents everything from interactive exhibitions and live performances, to cultural showcases by artists in Singapore and around the world.
IMBA Theatre will feature:
IMBA Theatre – Black Box

With a space of more than 20,000 square feet and a 12.5-metre-high projection wall – one of the tallest in Southeast Asia, this state-of-the-art black box theatre is designed for immersive exhibitions and future-oriented arts, culture and lifestyle events.
IMBA Theatre – Gallery Space

Covering an area of 12,500 square feet and a height of 6.5 metres, the space is designed for traditional and mixed media showcases.
Opening Show: The Botero Show
When doors open in December, families can enjoy The Botero Show, an immersive journey into the colourful world of Colombian artist Fernando Botero. His giant, whimsical sculptures – already loved by many in Singapore – will come to life in a spectacular display that kids and adults alike will find fascinating. Expect larger-than-life visuals, interactive installations, and storytelling that sparks the imagination.
A Place Where Learning Meets Play
IMBA Theatre isn’t just about entertainment – it’s also a space for learning through play and creativity. In collaboration with Nanyang Polytechnic’s School of Design & Media, IMBA will develop programmes that support youth talent and educational storytelling, perfect for sparking curiosity in young minds.
Families can look forward to showcases that explore Singapore’s rich heritage, such as the nostalgic murals of Yip Yew Chong and vibrant artworks inspired by the Nanyang style – a unique blend of Chinese and Western techniques that highlight Southeast Asian life.
