Swensen's Unlimited 2nd Outlet at VivoCity

Building on the success of its debut at Changi Airport, Swensen’s Unlimited has opened its second outlet at VivoCity!

Yakiniku Gyubei - Japan’s first head-to-tail Yakiniku Restaurant opens in Singapore

Singapore will be welcoming its first Yakiniku Gyubei outlet at 100AM on 10 January 2025. Known as a pioneer in head-to-tail philosophy, Yakiniku Gyubei has redefined yakiniku dining since its founding in 1999, offering 24 cuts of premium Wagyu beef from ethically raised Kyushu cattle.

Savour a curated selection of premium cuts, including sirloin, shoulder loin, tongue, and more, paired with secret sauces that enhance the flavours. Lunch sets start at just $13.90, while the indulgent Omakase BBQ Courses are priced from $100 for two persons, with à la carte options and dinner omakase starting at $48.

Their innovative "zero-waste meat" approach is more than a cooking method, and with 22 outlets across Japan, this marks the brand’s first overseas expansion.

Lovers of Dian Xiao Er Herbal Roasted Ducks can now up the ante on their indulgences with the launch of Dian Xiao Er Prestige at Great World, opening its doors on 30th December 2024.

Enter the space through gilded archways for an unmistakable air of prestige, before sitting down in a spacious dining hall of wooden furnishing and fixtures. The restaurant features two private VIP rooms (seating up to 14) and seven semi-private dining rooms (seating up to 10), it’s the perfect destination for both intimate gatherings and quiet celebrations. Exclusively at this outlet, weekend reservations are now available for the private VIP rooms.

Beyond its signature Herbal Roasted Duck, Dian Xiao Er Prestige introduces a curated menu of outlet-exclusive dishes, including the flavourful Double-boiled Sea Coconut Kampong Chicken Soup, the indulgent Abalone in Zesty Garlic Dressing, and Stir-fried Prawns with Wild Mountain Garlic.

Guests can also explore a specially crafted wine and liquor menu, featuring Chinese wines and liquors perfectly paired with the restaurant’s bold, authentic flavours.

Tablescape Restaurant & Bar ushers in the Year of the Snake with an array of celebratory classics elevated with Modern European flair; perfect for joyous reunions set in the neoclassical elegance of the restaurant, conviviality in the comfort of home, or gifting in the spirit of the new Spring.  To furnish feasts at home and potluck tables, or make as gourmet gifts, Tablescape has curated a selection of à la carte specials for takeaway. Diners can look forward to items such as the:

  • Tablescape Seafood Yu Sheng ($188nett, serves up to 10 pax) - Shaped like a snake in honour of the year’s zodiac icon, this opulent assemblage stars Josper-grilled octopus, local lobster, maguro loin, salmon sashimi, crispy fish skin and a vibrant assortment of winter melon, leek, pomelo, and lotus root, and more. The festive staple is replete with crunchy ‘bo cui’ crackers, roasted peanuts, avruga caviar, ikura, and edible gold leaf.
  • Prosperity in a Pot ($218nett, serves up to 6 pax) - Tablescape’s unique interpretation of a ‘pen cai’ dish featuring abalone, Boston lobster, Hokkaido scallops, slipper lobster, king prawns, mussels, pork belly, avruga caviar, and other delicacies. These ingredients are brought together by a herbaceous broth inspired by the Italian acqua pazza.

YÀN ushers in the Year of the Snake with an array of traditional Cantonese delights, offering six specially curated dine-in set menus (ranging from $138++ to $288++ per person), along with a variety of à la carte dishes and festive treats.  Indulge in jovial revelries with five set menus offering six to eight courses featuring premium meats and seafood, curated to showcase the finest of Cantonese cuisine.

Toss to greater heights with YÀN’s Kaleidoscope of Prosperity Yu Sheng in ‘Shun De’ Style with Yellowtail Slices and Sakura Shrimps (from $128++). The festive stalwart spotlights a dazzling mountain of fried vermicelli that crackles like festive firecrackers when drizzled with peanut oil, crowned with shredded purple and yellow sweet potatoes, pickled ginger, crispy shredded conpoy, and gold flakes. Encircling this centerpiece is a vibrant array of fresh vegetables, pickled ginger, crushed peanuts, sesame seeds, youtiao, tender yellowtail slices and sakura shrimps, all complemented by a tangy, savoury dressing of low-sodium soy sauce, fresh lime juice, sliced lemon leaves, and peanut oil. Toss To Prosperity with Ginkyō by Kinki

Celebrate the arrival of spring and the Lunar New Year at Ginkyō by Kinki. The modern Japanese bistro presents a contemporary take on Yu Sheng with Japanese flavours for diners to toss to abundant prosperity. Usher in good fortune and wealth with Ginkyō’s Abundance Yu Sheng, featuring an array of freshly sliced salmon, tuna, and swordfish sashimi, arranged on a bed of shredded daikon. For added crunch, deep-fried crabstick, wakame, and pickled daikon radish (takuan zuke) accompany the sashimi. Thinly sliced carrots, cucumbers, and shredded dried chilli complete the Yu Sheng with their vibrant colours. Japanese fish floss (sakura denbu) circles the plate, symbolising a year of unity. Welcome the 2025 Lunar New Year with Fat Cow’s Exquisite Gyu Sheng

This Lunar New Year, welcome new beginnings with Fat Cow’s Signature Gyu Sheng. Known for its curated selection of premium Japanese Wagyu and customised beef experiences, Fat Cow presents a unique twist on the traditional Yu Sheng, reimagining this classic festive dish with their signature style. The Signature Gyu Sheng ($68++/good for 4 to 5pax), available from 22 January to 5 January 2025, features a luxurious presentation of Toriyama Umami Wagyu, renowned for its umami taste and refined fats – a result of meticulous feeding practices involving grains, dried and fresh rice straw, and miso. The Wagyu is served with chuka kurage (seasoned jellyfish), chuka wakame (seasoned seaweed), and ikura (salmon roe).
