With the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations, we are looking forward to lots of Chinese New Year-themed events and activities. Families can also expect lots to do across the island too! 

Free Movie (And Cartoon) Screenings at Sports Hub Library

The Sports Hub Library is open to the general public to encourage the general population to embrace sports as a healthy lifestyle. It is free to visit and it offers a wide range resource types from prints, audiovisuals to electronic resources. 

In addition to providing sports related library’s resources and services, the library also plans and develops library activities and programmes to support the events and programmes in Sports Hub and to cater to different types of users! Through chance, we came to realise that the library organises daily free cartoon screening for the public. The screenings are usually an hour long in the evenings and no registration is required!

So if you are in the vicinity and looking for something to do, this might be something to keep the little ones entertained. 

New Craft Zone at SMIGY PLQ Mall

Venue: SMIGY PLQ Mall
Fees: Starts from $12, ranges for activities

A new addition to SMIGY at PLQ Mall, the kids craft zone is located next to the main playground and offers various craft activities for kids to engage in! Activities include Dinosaur Egg excavating, ornament designing, handbag making and more. This is useful if you need an activity while waiting for your admission slot or for after play "cooldown"! 

Craft activities are not part of the playground admission and pricing starts from $12. From now till 31 Mar 2022, you may also enjoy 20% off activities when you show our article to the staff too.

Treasure Hunt Tour at Kampung Glam by NLB

Venue: Kampong Glam
Dates: 24 Jan - 13 Mar 2022

As part of the National Library Board's Curiocity: Places & Perspectives initiative, the interactive Curiocity Treasure Hunts will take place at Kampong Glam, Yishun and Punggol throughout the year. There will be 3 hunts, each lasting 1 week at each venue. The hunts at Kampong Glam will happen from 24 Feb to 13 Mar 2022. 

The tours are to encourage Singaporeans to discover the country and its history, as they on a journey to unravel the stories about our past, present and future as a nation through NLB’s resources. Learn about the history and significance of the Malay Heritage Centre in Istana Kampong Glam, the seat and historic home of the Malay royalty in Singapore.

To join the Treasure Hunt and win up to $1,000 worth of vouchers, simply borrow physical books or eBooks to earn points and get clues through the NLB Mobile app.  

Redeem Tickets to the Eevee Adventure at Sentosa 

Date: 29 Jan - 20 Feb 2022 (Every Sat & Sun)
Time: 8 pm
Venue: Palawan Green
Admission: Spend $15 at Sentosa for free entry

For a fun-filled 30 minutes, boogie along at the Eevee Adventure at Sentosa with 8 Eevee evolutions as they shake and kick the festivities up a notch with an unforgettable once-in-a-lifetime dance extravaganza. Each Eevee mascot will be dressed in ponchos of each Eevee evolution!
