We are in the final month of the 2022, and here's a list of new things that you can do to end the year with a ton of family fun! 

December is the busiest month in our calendar! Lots of new venues, exciting events and massive promotions will be happening to celebrate Christmas and to catch families in the year-end school holidays!

1. Have An Active Fun-filled Family Day @ FunFam SportFest 2022

Head down to FunFam SportFest 2022, a one-day only sports carnival happening on 17 Dec 2022 where families will get to take part in parent-child programmes, experience the free sports tryouts, and have fun at the various activities happening! 

Happening from 8.30 am to 6 pm, there will be lots of fun and exciting activities happening including free sports tryouts organised by ActiveSG Academies and Clubs, covering sports such as football, floorball, canoeing and more! That's not all - parents may choose to join the parent-child programmes where you will bond and create sporting moments with your child and receiving freebies for participating too! 

Let's not forget the various mascots, Nila and friends, who will be making appearances throughout the day for photo opportunities. Look out for the fun inflatables and mini challenges where you can stand to win prizes too!

Internationally acclaimed Papermoon Puppet Theatre collaborates with artists and designers from Singapore to perform Stream of Memory, an ecological tale of remembrance and reconnection at the Singtel Waterfront Theatre, Esplanade.

Created in response to the disappearing rivers consumed by urbanisation and modern life, this lyrical non-verbal production promises to rekindle our memories of nature and deepen our connections with each other.

The performance uses puppetry, dance and music to bring families on an enchanting journey with Sang and Jun. Families can choose to enjoy the experience through standard theatre seating on chairs or through a more intimate performance with floor seating.

This school holiday, Otah & Friends is moving beyond the usual well-loved escape rooms to launch a brand new storytelling adventure - Rescue Luckee! A Live Action Game! The interactive game will ignite the curiosity of young minds, encourage creativity, and guide them on the importance of collaboration through a shared challenge. 

You and your kids will be led by a live performer throughout your journey as you join Otah’s search and rescue team to save Luckee the Boar who has gone missing while foraging in the Camp Stardust forest!

9. A New Exciting Venue For Dino Fans - Dinoland Singapore

10. Visit The New Rifle Range Nature Park

Located at the site of the former Sin Seng Quarry along Rifle Range Road, Rifle Range Nature Park opens on 12 Nov 2022 offering a freshwater wetland converted from the Sin Seng Quarry, a cliff-top viewing deck at the top of the quarry and over 7km of trails and boardwalks with varying difficulties. 

The 66-ha nature park serves as a direct buffer to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve,  and offers a cliff-top viewing gallery, play and learn elements, and over 7km of trails and boardwalks for families to discover. 

11. Meet The Night Safari's First Tasmanian Devils

In a Singapore first,¬†Night Safari¬†has welcomed¬†four Tasmanian Devils, one of Australia‚Äôs most iconic predators. The four females ‚Äď Crumpet, Snickers, Jesse and Panini ‚Äď are all around three years old and have made the Wallaby Trail their new home.¬†¬†¬†

Located at the end of Night Safari’s Wallaby Trail, the Devil's new home consists of two climate-controlled indoor exhibits, two expansive outdoor habitats for the animals to roam and explore, as well as back-of-house facilities consisting of indoor dens and outdoor yards, giving the nocturnal animals ample space to rest in the day. The outdoor exhibits feature rockwork, water features and Australian trees such as Eucalyptus and shrubs like the Red Flowered Silky Oak to simulate the Devils’ wild dry shrubland habitat.

12. Bring Your Pets And Kids To The New Jurong Play Grounds

23. Gifting As A Family with Endowus Gives Back

Endowus has returned for its second year of Endowus Gives Back, an initiative that encourages Singaporeans to give the gift of hope, and donate to a cause near and dear to their heart during the festive season. 

Endowus Giving Machines are vending machines with a twist, offering people the chance to give to their preferred charity instead of purchasing products for themselves. To make it easier and more accessible for Singaporeans to donate to charity, Endowus has teamed up with Amundi, Fidelity, and Natixis to place more than 20 physical and virtual giving machines across Singapore. 

At any physical machine, individuals will be able to select from a display of giving cards with a $5, $10, $15 or $20 value that they would like to donate to their chosen charity. Donations can be via Nets, Nets Flashpay, PayNow or credit card.

26. Play At The Returnng UNTAME: Day

Part of the UNTAME Festival, UNTAME: Day transforms the Singapore Science Centre into METANU, an immersive game world. Held at Science Centre Singapore from 10am to 5pm, UNTAME Day features an exciting, limited time only event, where guests can put their speed and wits to the test.

Bringing to life a truly gamified experience, join in the fun at the Centre and register to be a STEMling Agent and hone your skills to defeat The Void that has consumed the Science Centre. Complete all missions to collect points and win prizes!

Those who prefer more laidback activities can enjoy film screenings from the Science Film Festival collection by the Goethe-Institut Singapur or stroll through a flea market where families can expect to find a whole selection of handcrafted and sustainable goods.

Located at Basement 2 of Jewel Changi Airport, this 7Café concept store at a 7-Eleven outlet is the perfect place to make a quick pit stop to grab a coffee and croissant before you leave to explore the garden city! Travellers can even plug in their devices to recharge as they relax while enjoying 7Café’s special offerings. 

28. Discover A Showcase of 4,000 Creative Artworks at ION Art Gallery

From 3 to 11 December 2022, visitors to ION Art gallery will be greeted by a massive number of creative entries that make up the eighth iteration of Pameran Poskad. In addition to 4,000 postcard-sized artworks, Pameran Poskad 2022 will also showcase by-exhibition Small Works by new and established artists.

On 3 and 6 December 2022 from 4.30pm to 6pm, visitors can participate in a Plasticine Painting Workshop by Cheryl Lam, where they will be given a mess-free opportunity to learn how to mix and match colours to create their own postcard-sized artwork on plasticine. A registration fee of $25 includes materials for the workshop.

Rainbow Artisan will also be conducting Eco-Casting Workshops on 4 December 2022 from 10am to 6pm, with sessions scheduled hourly. Suitable for ages six and above, participants will create their own key-chain charms or phone holders using Jesmonite, with a registration fee of $10 and $25 respectively. 29. PlayScape X Build Your Own 3D Model Workshop

Want to have something to remember 2022 by? Better yet make it yourself! Idea - how does 3D printing your own name stamp sound? 

Join the¬†PlayScape x Build Your Own 3D Model Workshop¬†at Science Centre Singapore to just that! The next workshop is happening on 17 Dec 2022, and you can come to design your own 3D models, and also be introduced to the ‚ÄėMakerBot‚Äô 3D printer. We are sure the kids will be thrilled to see their name stamps being printed out on the spot! and get to learn about cool concepts like UI/UX, blockchain and biometrics at the Smart Nation PlayScape exhibit.
