The British Council is opening its doors at the November 2024 Open House happening across both centres (Napier and Toa Payoh), offering parents a unique opportunity to explore their Young Learner English Enrichment Classes.

5. KF1 Kiddy Circuit - Mini Race Circuit for Kids

First made available in 2022, the KF1 Kiddy Circuit has moved indoors to Expo Hall 8A and offers an immersive go-karting experience for kids where they can enjoy three types of driving experiences - Go-karts, Radio controlled cars and VR driving.

This experience is for children aged 9 years and below. Adults are not allowed to ride unless they are riding in tandem with a child. Children below 1m height are required to ride in tandem with an adult. Young racers above 100cm are allowed to ride alone but it is encouraged that parents ride with them on their first try. 

Each ride is usually ~10 min and priced at $16 per ride with discounts for multi-ride purchases. Tickets are available on Fever now!

Step into Terminal 3 (T3) Departure Hall and marvel at Hello Kitty Festive Wonderland, featuring a breathtaking 8-metre-tall Hello Kitty topiary, surrounded by her beloved friends, including My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, and Pompompurin. Then, join in the fun as you take a joy ride over a 7-metre-long rainbow slide.

7. World of Blocks - A New Block-themed Indoor Playground with Various Play Zones

Themed after Korea’s favourite animated show “Pororo,” the 11,000 sq ft Pororo Park is one of the largest in Singapore and is packed with different attractions and play areas. The popular playground closed for a short revamp in Oct, and families can now expect the return of live performances by Pororo & Friends, Meet and Greet sessions and engaging events such as bubble parties and magic shows at the Tong Tong's Theatre. There's also a new, fun-filled area, Harry's Campsite, where children can immerse themselves in imaginative, camping-themed activities.

9. West Coast Parkview Playground - Giant Purple Octopus and Pirate Ship

Singapore’s first indoor snow centre, Snow City Singapore, revamps with new and exciting attractions. You can now experience real snow in Singapore and slide down the 120-m Glacier Luge recognised by the Singapore Book of Records.

Built next to the original 60-metre slide down a snowy hill, families can expect another great rush of adrenaline on the new 120-metre-long majestic ice Glacier Luge. This glowing ice sculpture features breathtaking twist and turns for every member of the family. 11. Sisters' Islands Marine Park Reopens to Public

The jewel of the Marine Park, Big Sister’s Island, is the only place in the marine park that is open to visitors. Small Sister’s Island is zoned for research and conservation, while the western reefs of both St John’s Island and Pulau Tekukor are submerged.

On the Big Sister's Island, families can enjoy the new Floating Boardwalk and get closer to nature, and hike the Ocean Network Express Coastal Forest Trail to the Hilltop View Deck, the highest point on the island. 12. Disney Adventure Cruise Announces Booking Details

Come 2025, families will have another exciting to do with Disney Adventure Cruise setting from the Marina Bay Cruise Centre. In late October, Disney Cruise Line revealed more details about the ship's 7 themed zones as well as cruise dates too! 

Disney Adventure will start sailing from 10 Dec 2024 with booking starting from 10 Dec 2025. Details on pricing and sailing dates will be released on November 14, 2024.

My Community Festival (MCF) returns for its fifth edition from 1 to 17 November 2024, showcasing over 100 events and tours that immerse participants in Singapore's rich cultural heritage. This year’s festival, themed “My Last Journey,” offers a look into the world of end-of-life traditions and practices. 

MCF 2024 will feature seven immersive segments and a vibrant festival village, each exploring different facets of death-related cultural practices and tradition.

By spotlighting the people and practices that shape our end-of-life traditions, MCF 2024 aims to celebrate life by honouring the diverse, vibrant and intimate approaches to embracing death. Through community tours, tastings, and interactions with the local community, the festival hopes to inspire people to reflect on their own life journeys and strengthen their connection to their communities.

24. Clay MakersMarket with Kid's Pottery

Singapore Clay Festival’s annual Clay Makers’ Market will see workshops, demonstrations and throwdowns, and booths by Singapore’s leading ceramic artists. 

This year’s Market will also see six clay making demos and nine paid workshops by Ken Lu of Homily Studios, Emily Moh of Tiong Bahru Pottery, and Studio GDMC. The demonstrations are free while workshops by Ken Lu, Emily Moh and Studio GDMC cost from $90 to $107 per person.

At Emily Moh's workshops, children (6 - 12 years old) will learn hand-building coiling techniques to create a kitty-corn bowl (8 Nov), onigiri dish (9 Nov) and cat figurine (10 Nov). After they shaped their piece, they will get to personalise it with colours using underglaze painting.

All are held on site at Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre at 1 Straits Boulevard.

Singapore Writers Festival (SWF), invites us to reflect on what is truly in our nature — as humans, as writers and readers, as global citizens — navigating the world we live in today. This year’s festival offers over 200 innovative and thought-provoking programs for all ages, featuring more than 300 speakers from around the world.

For families, SWF Playground is back with fun and exciting programmes for the little ones to be exposed to reading and writing, all while having fun with the family. From storytelling sessions to hands-on crafting workshops and meet-and-greets with iconic storybook characters, there are different programmes for all families. 

28. vOilah! French Film Festival

Step into the incredible world of French film at vOilah! Organised by the Embassy of France and co-presented by Alliance Française de Singapour, Shaw Organisation and The Projector, this milestone edition of the festival pays tribute to the long history of French cinematic excellence. 

This year’s line-up features a total of 36 films comprising those fresh from the box office and the timeless classics that shaped the face of French cinema. The selection includes a rich array of genres —from chart-topping blockbusters, hilarious comedies, blood-pumping adventure tales, wholesome family stories and more. 

In addition to those screened at commercial and independent movie theatres, the festival will partner with People’s Association to organise screenings of PG-rated films and animations at 15 sites including community clubs and integrated community hubs. 

29. #XiamTheScams, a Web Game by National Crime Prevention Centre with $55,000 in cash prizes

The National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) launches #XiamTheScams, a fun, educational and easy-to-play life simulator web game.

The game is created to reflect real-life complexities where balancing health, wealth, happiness, relationships and fun can be a challenge. The thrill of playing comes from overcoming these challenges and climbing the leaderboard. To do that, players have to pick a character and go through the character’s life journey for 100 in-game days, equivalent to approximately a few days to one week in real life. 

The challenge is to make the wisest choice at each scenario and earn the highest score during the game period. At the end of the 3-month game period, top 100 players on the #XiamTheScams leaderboard will receive cash prizes.

36. Poems on the MRT by Sing Lit Station

Embark on a literary journey with Poems on the MRT, an initiative by the National Arts Council in partnership with SMRT and Stellar Ace, brought to life by Sing Lit Station. From 1 November 2024, Singapore poetry will take over the MRT network, integrating local literature into the daily experience of commuters. 

Look out for over a hundred poems in English, Malay, Chinese and Tamil in trains on the East-West and North-South lines, as well as videos created by local artists and featuring local poets in stations and on trains. Discover literary treasures at a pop-up library in Dhoby Ghaut station on 1 November, where a curated selection of Sing Lit titles will be available for browsing. 

37. A Musical Odyssey: Fantasies and Journeys

38. Paper Monkey Theatre Presents: No Strings Attached 2024

No Strings Attached 2024 is a mini puppetry festival dedicated to the theme of Environmental Conservation. The festival will take place from 30th November to 1st December 2024 at The Artground, Goodman Arts Centre, featuring performances by acclaimed puppeteers from Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Korea, and Penang, Malaysia.

This festival aims to promote puppetry to the Singapore young audiences by providing a platform for them to experience various forms of puppetry. The international and regional groups perform in mime or in English, and this makes it accessible for audiences to enjoy and understand puppetry as an artform. The Paper Monkey Theatre hopes to encourage interest and deepen the appreciation of the craft of puppetry through this exposure.

There are various sessions to choose from, each session will feature a different performer as well as play time at the The Artground's visual arts space, M.A.P. 

39. The Wizard Of Oz

But what dangers lie ahead in this strange world that sometimes reminds Dorothy so much of Singapore? And will brains, heart and courage be enough to get her home?

This story follows an old, seasoned fisherman and the greatest catch of his life. After returning home empty-handed for days, he sails further into the sea and finally hooks a big fish he names Mari. The fish pulls him deeper into the sea, leading to a fierce struggle with Nature as he fights to survive and return home.

As the festive season draws near, many of us eagerly anticipate spending quality time with our loved ones. However, it is important to recognise that not everyone shares this simple privilege.

For incarcerated parents, the holidays are often a time of isolation, spent alone in their cells, far from the warmth and connection of family and children. Geneco is looking to bridge this gap with its latest initiative, ‘Till the End of Time’, building on its ongoing collaboration with the Yellow Ribbon Project to emphasise second chances and the power of family support.

  • Launch of ‘Love Beyond the Walls: Till the End of Time’ book 
    • Geneco has partnered with New Life Stories, Yellow Ribbon Project, and CANVAS to co-create ‘Love Beyond the Walls: Till the End of Time,’ a book endorsed by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam. This collection features ten heartfelt stories written by inmates for their children, aiming to bridge the emotional distance between incarcerated parents and their families.
  • Interactive Installations and Storytelling Sessions at National Libraries
    • From 1 Nov to 31 Dec 2024, Geneco will host interactive installations at Queenstown, Sembawang, and Jurong Regional Libraries, featuring 2.5-metre-tall book displays made from recyclable materials, highlighting Geneco’s commitment to sustainability. These installations will showcase stories from the New Life Stories series, including 'Love Beyond the Walls: Till the End of Time.'
    • Additionally, local celebrity Kelly Latimer will lead a storytelling session at Jurong Regional Library on 14 December, offering families an immersive experience that reinforces the campaign's themes of hope and resilience.
  • Week-Long Pop-up at  Ngee Ann City
    • Geneco will be bringing ‘Till the End of Time’ to life through an immersive pop-up experience from 12 to 18 Dec outside Ngee Ann City where visitors can partake in a series of exciting activities and pledge their support and stand a chance to win attractive prizes by simply downloading any of the three preview e-stories at the pop-up.
