Celebrate the ending of a decade and the beginning of another with these year-end festivities happening all around our little red dot. With so much happening, from sensational circus acts to a slew of stage performances, there’s bound to be something for everyone!

Here’s a guide to all the family-friendly events and activities that are happening this year-end to bring your little ones to!  

1. The Great Circus of Europe

Coming to Singapore for the first time is The Great Circus of Europe presented by Uncle Ringo. On New Year’s Eve, the Bayfront Event Space will play host to a thrilling line-up of international circus acts where visitors can get up close to acrobats, gravity-defying motorbikes, contortionists, clowns and more. Visitors can also indulge in carnival games, thrill rides and delicacies at the food street.

2. Star Island Singapore

STAR ISLAND SINGAPORE COUNTDOWN EDITION will return to The Float @ Marina Bay for its sophomore edition, whisking visitors off on an intergalactic adventure with a new theme – A Space Odyssey. The show will see Japanese fireworks, pyrotechnics, 3D surround sound and stage performances, all interfused into a single, seamless immersive experience.

3. Let’s Celebrate 2020

Music lovers can look forward to Mediacorp’s Let’s Celebrate 2020 countdown concert at The Promontory that will bring the best of music, dance and fashion together, shining a spotlight on the top talents from Singapore.

4. Starlight @ The Lawn\

Families may also drop by Starlight @ The Lawn from 5 pm to enjoy an array of family-friendly and fun activities with bouncy castles, roving and stage performances, food and beverage options and more, presented by the Marina Bay Alliance.

5. Unwind @ Civic District

The streets at the Civic District will be closed once again to create a special car-free zone as an extension of the celebrations around the bay. Unwind @ Civic District will feature a variety of activities for visitors at the Empress Lawn and along Connaught Drive, allowing them to enjoy the night with their friends and loved ones while indulging in a wide variety of food and drinks.

There will also be a silent disco starting from 8 pm!

6. Christmas Wonderland

Singapore’s most popular year-end event, Christmas Wonderland, returns to Gardens by the Bay featuring exciting new highlights with plenty to amaze visitors of all ages. Its sixth edition will mark the debut of the Christmas Parade, a brand new interactive Santa’s Workshop, a riveting mix of international theatrical productions, and more three-dimensional light installations, in addition to the event’s traditional games and rides as well as shopping and dining spaces.

7. Christmas at ArtScience Museum

Led by his trusted reindeer, Santa Claus will be flying his magical sleigh into FUTURE WORLD: Where Art Meets Science! Bask in the festivity cheers as the iconic Sketch Town installation transforms into Sketch Christmas, a virtual Christmas Wonderland.

Bring your favourite Santa Claus to life and he will deliver special gifts to everyone in the winter wonderland!

8. Poinsettia Wishes

Embark on a whimsical journey through the Nordic countries at Gardens by the Bay's Poinsettia Wishes floral display this Christmas. With creative direction by the Ambassador of Denmark to Singapore, Her Excellency Dorte Bech Vizard, this year’s yuletide display lends a Christmas twist to iconic landmarks in the Nordic region. See if you can spot the distinct architecture of the Bolgen building in Denmark, Santa Claus Village in Finland, Hallgrimskirkja church in Iceland, Vennesla library in Norway and Triangeln train station in Sweden, ingeniously interwoven into each scene - from Santa's post office to the reindeer station.
