1. Set Sail for Family Fun at Navy Day 2026 at the Singapore Navy Museum

Venue: Singapore Navy Museum, 112 Tanah Merah Coast Rd, Singapore 498794 (free shuttle bus from Expo MRT station on event days)
Dates: 1 and 2 May 2026, 9.30 am - 5 pm
Admission: Free with paid activities

Come celebrate Navy Day 2026 at the Singapore Navy Museum. Families will get to take a rare look into naval life through interactive tours and roving performances and discover the incredible contributions of servicewomen through generations. It is the perfect outing for aspiring little captains and history buffs alike!

Admission is free but for just $10, you can snag a seat on the exclusive Changi Naval Base Windshield Tour for a rare peek inside the base or join the War at Sea Tour to explore the Johore Battery and uncover stories of pre-war defences.

There are plenty of other free and fun to-dos for little ones. Kids will love meeting CPT Simon and his new mystery mascot friend, and to interact with role-playing talents dressed in 1967 Naval Rig and SWANS uniforms - speak with them to hear fun facts from the past!

Don't forget to grab a trail card to embark on the Remembrance & Reflection Trail to earn a special reward, enjoy live harmonies from various chorales and musical groups, and to enjoy local favourites at the Potong Ice Cream Van and the Old Chang Kee O’My Darling truck! 

To make it convenient for everyone, there will also be free bus shuttle service between Expo MRT station and Singapore Navy Museum during the event days. So mark down your calendars for 1 and 2 May 2026, and don't miss all the fun!

2. Explore 100+ Family Adventures at Singapore HeritageFest 2026

This May, Singapore HeritageFest returns with a sea of experiences for families to explore Singapore’s maritime roots. From rare behind-the-scenes access to the PSA International terminals to theatrical bumboat rides along the Singapore River, there’s plenty to excite curious kids and parents alike.

High-energy highlights include guided tours like the Jurong Fishery Port visit, offering a peek into how seafood makes its journey to your table. Prefer something hands-on? Try batik printing at the Children's Museum Singapore, popiah-making in Joo Chiat, or even scent-blending inspired by regional trade.

Short on time? Head straight to HOMEGROUND at the Asian Civilisations Museum Green for rotating weekend workshops, performances, and an immersive exhibition.

3. Step Into A Blooming Art Adventure at Gardens by the Bay's Tulipmania

Tulipmania returns for its 12th edition, transforming the Flower Dome into a vibrant showcase where art and horticulture collide. Families can explore over 65,000 tulips inspired by Dutch masters like van Gogh, Rembrandt, and Vermeer, making it both a visual treat and a fun, kid-friendly introduction to art history.

Step into a recreated Rijksmuseum experience, complete with iconic works such as The Night Watch and Girl with a Pearl Earring, and discover the De Kat Windmill—an interactive nod to how pigments were traditionally made for classic paintings. Children can also spot floral reinterpretations of famous artworks, including van Gogh’s The Starry Night and Mondrian’s geometric designs.

Beyond the blooms, look out for standout floral varieties like the symbolic Tulipa ‘Kaki’, unique hybrids, and a striking Delftware tulip vase installation.

Families can also join contests to win return flights to Europe with KLM—either by scanning QR codes at the Delft House display or sharing their tulip-filled moments on Instagram.

Pro tip: Visit on weekday mornings or late afternoons for fewer crowds and the best golden-hour photos.

4. Step Into Old Singapore at Chinatown's Five Footway Festival 2026

Transport your family to the bustling streets of old Singapore at the Five Footway Festival 2026. Running from 2 to 10 May, this heritage celebration transforms Smith Street and Pagoda Street into a cultural festival where kids and families can have fun while learning about our cultural heritage. 

The festival focuses on the "five-foot ways"—the iconic covered walkways of Chinatown’s shophouses—bringing back the sights, sounds, and smells of a bygone era through immersive street programming. Families can expect stage performances, workshops and talks, games and more! 

Most activities happens over the weekends and are free to enjoy too! 

5. Embark On A Sensory Art Journey with When Art Meets Nature at National Gallery Singapore

Venue: National Gallery Singapore, City Hall Wing, Level 1 – City Hall Alcove & Keppel Centre for Art Education
Date: 30 April 2026 – 1 November 2026
Time: During gallery opening hours
Fee: Free admission

What does a forest sound like indoors, or a river feel like through art? When Art Meets Nature invites families on a sensory-rich journey inspired by the natural world. Co-curated with the Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts, this exhibition brings two acclaimed works from Taiwan’s Taoyuan Children’s Art Center to Singapore for the first time.

In Peace Forest by Soh Ee Shaun, children can explore a whimsical landscape filled with soft sculptures of endangered animals and lush botanical forms—perfect for open-ended play and quiet discovery. Meanwhile, Where the River Runs by Yenting Hsu offers a sound-led experience inspired by indigenous stories from Taiwan’s Dahan River, weaving together culture, ecology, and memory.

Blending art, nature, and storytelling, this cross-cultural showcase encourages environmental awareness while making art accessible and engaging for young visitors—well worth adding to your family outing list.
