Step Into a Living Landscape of Art and Nature

What does a forest sound like indoors? What stories flow through a river? Opening on 30 April 2026 at National Gallery Singapore, When Art Meets Nature invites families to explore these questions through an immersive, multi-sensory journey inspired by the natural world.

Co-curated with the Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts, this special presentation brings two standout works from its 2025 debut at the Taoyuan Children’s Art Center to Singapore—offering a rare chance for local audiences to experience them up close.

Wander Through Peace Forest

Created by Singaporean artist Soh Ee Shaun, Peace Forest transforms the gallery into a lush, imaginative ecosystem. Expect soft sculptures of endangered animals and lush botanical forms. Inspired by the artist’s encounters with nature, the work offers families a restorative space for open-ended play, observation, and discovery.

Follow the Stories in Where the River Runs

In contrast, Taiwanese artist Yenting Hsu’s Where the River Runs offers a sound-led experience shaped by the indigenous stories and traditions of communities living along Taiwan's Dahan River, where waterways become vessels of cultural memory, ecological knowledge, and coexistence.

A Cross-Cultural Celebration of Nature and Art

Bringing together artistic perspectives from Singapore and Taiwan, When Art Meets Nature explores ecological themes while nurturing environmental awareness and meaningful engagement with art from a young age. It also reflects National Gallery Singapore’s ongoing commitment to regional artistic dialogue and lifelong learning through art.

A thoughtful, sensory-rich experience, it blends creativity, culture, and sustainability—making it an inspiring family day out that goes beyond the usual gallery visit.
