As you stroll through Chinatown, you will be greeted by a vibrant line-up of free stage performances that bring tradition to life. Expect the rhythmic beats of lion dance performances, the dramatic flair of face-changing acts, and elegant Chinese dance performances that showcase the rich heritage of the community.
These performances are open to everyone, making it easy for you to soak in the festive atmosphere while exploring the historic streets of Chinatown.
Try the Exclusive Tang Yuan Experience

No Winter Solstice celebration is complete without tang yuan (汤圆), and this event gives you a special reason to indulge. You can enjoy limited-edition durian and gula melaka tang yuan, freshly prepared on-site in collaboration with Grandpa Durian.
Priced at just $2 per bowl (2 pieces), this sweet treat symbolises reunion and warmth — perfect for sharing as you celebrate the season with loved ones.
Join Hands-On Cultural Activities for All Ages

Beyond the stage, Smith Street will transform into a vibrant hub of interactive cultural experiences for you to to explore heritage up close. Perfect for all ages, everyone can immerse themselves in Chinese calligraphy (免费书法), paper cutting (传统剪纸), henna art (海娜体验), Nyonya dress-up (娘惹服装体验), tea sampling (茶坊), and incense pendant crafting (手工香吊坠).
These engaging activities offer a fun and enriching way to discover the stories and artistry passed down through generations. Admission to the event is free, with all stage performances open to the public. Activity booths will require a small fee, except for Chinese calligraphy (免费书 法), which is complimentary.
