City Square Mall Launches Gift-A-Wish And Gift-A-Voucher Initiative This Christmas!

This Christmas, shop for a worthy cause at City Square Mall and spread the festive cheer to underprivileged children and families.

In the spirit of festive giving and cheer this holiday season, City Square Mall has displayed a ‘Tree of Hope and Wishes’ at its Level 1 atrium. This Christmas charity event hopes to inspire shoppers and tenants to give back to the community and to help deserving individuals and families with its Gift-A-Wish and Gift-A-Voucher initiative, making this festive season a joyous, jolly and meaningful holiday for everyone.

Bring joy and beaming smiles to the faces of 100 underprivileged children by helping to fulfill their festive wishes!

With City Square Mall’s ongoing effort to contribute and give back to the wider community, the ‘Tree of Hope and Wishes’ will be adorned with 100 festive wishes from children living in rental units in the Limbang Division under the North West District. These festive wishes are for young beneficiaries aged 3 to 13, and they include an assortment of wishes such as toys for play time and essential school supplies to enhance their education. 

With City Square Mall’s wide array of value-for-money merchandise and services, all festive wishes can be easily fulfilled at the mall. Every gift has been pre-reserved and pre-wrapped beautifully, so wish adopters can simply follow these steps:

• Conveniently scan the QR code on the standee, which will direct shoppers to a microsite where they can select from a list of wishes to fulfil.
• Upon selecting, head to the respective City Square Mall store to purchase the gift. Participating stores include: Challenger, Decathlon, Golden Village, Smiggle, and Toys”R”Us.
• Simply inform the store’s cashier of the selected wish and purchase the gift.
• Present the purchased gift to City Square Mall’s Customer Service Counter at Level 2. Any remaining wishes will be sponsored by City Square Mall to ensure that all 100 children will receive their gifts.

*Update* Thank you for your contribution! This meaningful initiative saw success in fulfilling all 100 festive wishes from children living in rental units in the Limbang Division under the North West District. The festive wishes included colouring sets to ignite their artistic creativity, back-to-school essentials including school bags and stationeries, and kick scooters for some fun leisure time. These were granted and presented by City Square Mall to the Limbang Division at the mall’s symbolic Tree of Hope and Wishes on 11 December 2021.

If you miss the Gift-A-Wish initiative, ‘fret not. The ‘Tree of Hope and Wishes’ will also be decked with QR codes for 250 NTUC FairPrice vouchers worth $20 each. 

Similarly, shoppers can also scan the QR code on the standees to access the list for this Gift-A-Voucher initiative. These vouchers will be gifted to the families living in rental units in the Limbang Division in the North West District.

Any remaining vouchers will be sponsored by City Developments Limited (CDL)’s City Sunshine Club, to ensure that all 250 families will receive them.

All wishes and vouchers will be presented to the beloved children and families in the Limbang Division on 12 December 2021 and 15 January 2022 respectively. This is a collaboration between CDL and its community partners, including the North West Community Development Council (CDC), which matched CDL’s efforts to meet the needs of vulnerable residents in the North West community.

This campaign comes in support of SG Cares Giving Week, a movement that celebrates the spirit of giving and seeks to make giving a part of our way of life. This comes at a time where people are motivated to look out and care for one another, through mutual care and support alongside sharing our various blessings with the wider community. No act of kindness goes unfelt, and no contribution is too small. Every act of goodwill counts and every support is invaluable in uplifting the lives of the less fortunate.
