Our little red dot is packed with exciting festivities this year-end, from rides, games, crafts and activities, to performances and shows. You may or may not join in the celebrations but there is just one thing you shouldn’t miss—Fireworks display.

Fireworks Timing

Here are the firework timings you will want to take note of for the Marina Bay Singapore Celebration 2019! 

  • 9.30 pm: 30 seconds teaser fireworks
  • 12.00 am: 7 minutes countdown fireworks

The fireworks that light up the night sky are a feast for the eyes and feast your eyes you may with these 8 ideal locales + an extra way to watch the fireworks ANYWHERE! 

1. Merlion Park

Location: Fullerton Rd

Getting a spot at Merlion Park is almost like winning the lottery—not easy but if you do get it, you’re really lucky. After all, it’s a well-known fact that Merlion Park provides a clear view of the New Year’s fireworks display, which is why it fills up real quick. We would suggest getting there earlier than early.

2. Bay East Garden

Spread out a picnic mat at Bay East Garden and cuddle up your little ones to enjoy the fresh air, lush greenery surrounding you and an unhindered view of the fireworks.

3. Esplanade Roof Terrace

Our durian building has more than one place from which you can view the New Year’s fireworks display but we would highly recommend the Roof Terrace. The view of the firework burst against the Singapore skyline is definitely a sight for sore eyes.

4. Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza

Another place that fills up real fast and provides a perfect vantage point for the New Year’s fireworks display is the Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza. Settle yourselves down at the plaza early for a comfortable viewing of the fireworks.

5. The Lawn @ Marina Bay

If you’re looking for a more family-friendly spot to view the New Year’s fireworks display, then The Lawn is the place for you. Enjoy a leisurely picnic and watch fireworks light up the starry sky as you countdown into a New Year.

6. Marina Bay Sands Waterfront Boardwalk

Location: Bayfront

The combined view of the water below and fireworks above at the Marina Bay Sands Waterfront Boardwalk is sure to mesmerize you. You can also enjoy a scenic stroll on the boardwalk while waiting for New Year’s fireworks display.

7. Jubilee Bridge

Jubilee Bridge is a well-loved spot to view the New Year’s fireworks display from as it provides a vivid panoramic view of the scintillating fireworks. However, well-loved spot means it gets crowded quickly so, you’ve got to get there extra extra early if you want to snag yourselves a spot.

8. Helix Bridge & Benjamin Sheares Bridge

Location: Marina Bay

For an unhindered view of the New Year’s fireworks display, you’ll want to station yourselves at either the Helix Bridge or Benjamin Sheares Bridge. You can also expect a huge crowd here as they are both highly favoured places, probably more so than any other places in this list.

A personal tip, if you’re not a fan of jostling for space, we would suggest avoiding both bridges.

EXTRA: Watch it Anywhere!

Or skip the crowd (I know, its difficult with the kids)! Watch the fireworks from the comfort of your own home, on the bus, in the toilet (hiding from the kids) or simply as you lay in bed!
