Singapore's 61th National Day Parade in 2026 returns to the National Stadium with an indoor drone show and nationwide treasure hunt!

Singaporeans can look forward to a fresh National Day Parade 2026 (NDP)
experience as we celebrate 61 years of independence with a return to the iconic National
Stadium at The Kallang for the first time in ten years.

Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond!

This year’s theme, “Majulah Singapura, Go Beyond!”, celebrates 61 years of nation building and inspires Singaporeans to go further, do more, and be better together.

A New Experience - Missing and Returning Favourites

NDP 2026 returns to the National Stadium after 10 years. allowing approx 42,000 people to catch the parade, almost double that of the Padang.

However, crowd favourites such as the mobile column, Red Lions and aerial display will not make an appearance this year. There will also not be any heartland celebrations too.

Instead, the NDP 2026 parade will feature an indoor drone show, aerial performers and special effects. The Parade and Ceremony segment will feature the largest civilian participation in over a decade, with an expanded, more diverse and inclusive range of participants, including new contingents.

For the first time, the presidential gun salute will take place in the Kallang Basin, allowing it to be closer to the audience. While other staples such as the state flag fly-past, feu de joie and fireworks will be happening too.

Members of the public can also take part in a nationwide treasure hunt. Through location-based storytelling, participants uncover the rich history woven into the places they pass every day, with exclusive rewards along the way to celebrate every discovery. More details will be released subsequently.

Just as exciting as the actual day, NDP rehearsal dates offers you a chance to catch the happenings before everyone else. It is also a chance to catch the parade before the actual day.

For those looking to catch the fireworks, we understand that there should be fireworks happening at all rehearsals but at different intensity. The rehearsals closer to the actual day will have an experience closer to the real thing.

On National Day itself, 9 August 2026, the festivities will be a feast for the senses. The main parade takes place at the National Stadium and we expect fireworks to happen across the Marina Bay and city skyline.

Here's what you can expect at the celebrations!

Pre-Parade segment will begin with a short film that follows the Singapore flag as it weaves through the heartlands – from bustling streets, familiar coffee shops to heritage surrounds – unifying citizens from all walks of life
The Parade and Ceremony segment will feature the largest and most diverse civilian participation in over a decade, as well as traditional crowd favourites such as the State Flag Flypast, Feu-De-Joie, and Presidential Gun Salute (PGS).
The Show segment unfolds across five chapters, each a creative reflection of the powerful invitation to "Go Beyond!" It will also showcase NDP’s first-ever indoor drone light show, complemented by the largest indoor special effects presentation to date.

Heartland Celebrations

Unlike previous years where there will be no official heartland celebrations on 10 Aug. You should still keep a look out for partner and community events happening to celebrate the nations birthday!

Community and Partner Celebrations

We will be updating this section as more information about community events become available.

From 25 July to 9 August, members of public in the vicinity of the Kallang area will also be able to enjoy music performances from Ministry of Education (MOE) schools and music interest groups. Together with the “Go Beyond” lighted display and interactive activities around the Kallang precinct,

NDP Ticketing

Attending the main NDP parade is by ticket application only, which is free for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents via a ballot system. Applications for tickets to National Day Parade 2026 and its preview shows will open from noon on 23 May and close at noon on 6 June.

Applicants must use Singpass to apply for the tickets. Successful applicants will be notified between 15 - 17 June through the mobile number and e-mail address submitted in the application.

For those looking to catch the NDP2026 highlights around the vicinity, here are some notable timings that you should take note of. Do note that timings are approx. and subject to changes.

6.32 pm - State Flag Flypast
6.38 pm - Artillery Presidential Salute

Based on NDP 2025 1st combine rehearsal on 14 Jun as well as referenced from online sources, below are some key fireworks timings that we have. Do use these are a reference as fireworks timings may change. We will update the above information on the other happenings as soon as we have them.

5.46 pm - Rainbow Fireworks
7.35 pm - Fireworks
7.45 pm - Fireworks
8 pm - Fireworks and Light Projection (city skyline)
8.14 pm - Fireworks

Places To Catch the Fireworks

Below are some suggested places to catch the fireworks if the fireworks are from Marina Bay. Since the parade is happening at the National Stadium, there is the possibility that fireworks will only happen at the National Stadium.

Use this as a guide and we will update once we have more details for 2026.

Note that these places do get crowded quickly - especially with photographers and others wanting to catch a glimpse of the parade (it is not just about getting to the venue, do consider how you will be leaving - more about catching the NDP 2025 Fireworks).
