About Baker X
After a successful year of supporting 16 bakers from all walks of life and with different baking philosophies, Baker X now enters its second year with a continued exciting line-up for the first half of 2023. Through Baker X, home-baking entrepreneurs are offered a rewarding and enriching experience of operating out of a fully-fitted baking studio and café, which serves as a potential launch pad for them to scale up their production and set up a physical retail space.
With the aim of inspiring homepreneurs to realise their dreams whilst offering mall shoppers a distinctive experience by supporting local, Baker X is excited to unveil a line-up of popular home-bakers that will take the fancy of those who love a good bake.

Date: 6 to 20 Feb 2023
From 6 to 20 February 2023, shoppers of Orchard Central can enjoy delectable bakes from Chocolatea.
All bakes at Chocolatea are made from scratch with reduced sugar and without artificial colourings and flavouring. Delight in the signature Roll Cake Slice ($13) known for its soft sponge, light Chantilly cream and ganache, nut butter or praline-based toppings. Their notable Matcha Kinako Roll Cake highlights a fluffy matcha sponge rolled with luscious kinako Chantilly cream, and piped with a balanced bitter-sweet matcha ganache to finish.

Go for the lovely Tarts Slices ($13) with flavours such as Goma, Matcha Kinako, and Genmaicha Pistachio. The hand-crafted tart crusts are filled with varying flavoured ganache and topped with Chantilly cream.
These Madeleines ($6.50 - $7.50 each) are buttery petite sponge cakes filled with rich house-made pistachio or genmaicha pistachio praline.
These Financiers ($6.50 - $7.50 each) come in variations such as Sea Salt Goma and Koicha – a brown butter matcha financier filled with silky matcha ganache.
About Chocolatea Founder & Baker Dawn Yong
Founder Dawn Yong’s passion for baking was ignited by fond, vivid memories of enjoying her mother’s cakes in her growing years. With her mother’s love for Swiss rolls, Dawn was determined to create the best version for her. She launched a mini Swiss roll log cake for Christmas in 2020 as her first signature creation, and it was well-loved by her mother and her followers. Other popular items that followed include tea-based bakes featuring a variety of premium Japanese teas such as matcha, hojicha, and genmaicha, sourced directly from Kyoto, Japan.

Following Chocolatea, the next baker in the line-up will be Cherbaxtartyy, who will be taking residence at Baker X from 22 February to 4 April 2023.
Cherbaxtartyy will be presenting a collection of their popular sweet and savoury mini tarts. Select from a range of sweet and savoury flavours including Orh Nee with Ginkgo Nuts, Curry, and Pizza.

For all chocolate lovers, stay tuned for Chocolate Anatomy and their bestselling chocolate treats, such as the Signature Fudge Brownie, Signature 64% Truffles, and Chocolate Chunk Cookies.

Those with a soft spot for egg tarts will find their way to Baker X for Flash Bakes and their showcase of signature thin-crust egg tarts in an assortment of flavours like Sea Salt Dark Chocolate, Strawberry, Lemon Meringue, and Mango.

If sourdough is a must-have on any other day, Marymount Bakehouse is not to be missed for their Sourdough Bread Loaves, Focaccias, and Levain Pies.
Operating in tandem with the bakers is the new beverage partner – Tea Ideas.
