About Baker X
Launched in December 2021 by Far East Organization, Baker X aims to support home-based bakers by providing them with an opportunity to have first-hand experience running a brick-and-mortar storefront and interacting with customers face-to-face with a fully fitted baking studio and a 10-seater café.
Patrons can dine in or takeaway the baked goods at the café on Level 4 of Orchard Central (opposite Genki Sushi). The café is operated in tandem with social enterprise, Foreword Coffee Roasters.
There will be a line-up of bakers throughout the year, and each baker will be in residence for between 2 to 6 weeks.
With Dilutedcoke in residency, look forward to innovative and charming bakes like the range of delectably buttery tarts.
The ambrosial Pistachio Tart ($9) will please with a rich and nutty pistachio paste embellished with a swirl of vanilla cream and crunchy chopped pistachios.
The Matcha Yuzu Salted Caramel Tart ($8.50) features a smooth matcha paste with yuzu and salted caramel, finished with azuki beans atop.
The Lemon Tea Meringue Tart ($8.50) is a bold marriage of earthy Ceylon tea ganache with bright lemon curd adorned with pillowy meringue.
The Salted Caramel Mixed Nut Tart ($8.50) is filled with a variety of seeds and nuts such as sunflower seeds, walnuts, and sesame seeds mixed with salted caramel – an irresistible combination.
New creations to look out for are the delicate sandos in interesting pairings such as Black Sesame & Yuzu Sando ($7), Earl Grey Pecan Sando ($7), Pistachio & Lychee Rose Sando ($7), and Hojicha Macadamia Sando ($7).
Each sando highlights a flavoured sponge cake sandwiching a complementary Chantilly cream or ganache montée and a topping. These unique dessert sandos are bound to surprise and delight.
Not to be missed are the Choux Puffs ($7.50) crowned with crispy craquelin and filled with dreamy custard in variations like Biscoffee, Pistachio, Genmaicha, and Matcha.
The Pistachio Tiramisu ($15/small, $21/big) is an inviting treat consisting of creamy pistachio mascarpone, house-made crumble, and chopped pistachios.
The Biscoffee Tiramisu ($11/small, $16/big) teems with layers of classic coffee-soaked ladyfingers and biscoff mascarpone blanketed in biscoff paste and crumble.
Enjoy exquisite Canelés ($4.50) filled with a variety of well-loved flavours such as Pistachio, Black Sesame, Kinako, Earl Grey, and Lemon Tea.

About Dilutedcoke Founder & Baker Jia Jia
A passion for food prompted Jia Jia, founder and baker of Dilutedcoke, to take on a nutrition degree at Singapore Institute of Technology. Jia Jia was intrigued by how ingredients come together and was actively baking and experimenting with different flavours at home. She created the @dilutedcoke account to document her bakes which subsequently amassed a fan following. She left her full-time job as a nutritionist to focus on baking, turning it into a home-based business. Jia Jia applies her knowledge of nutrition and food sciences to her bakes, which are made with reduced sugar, no artificial flavourings, colourings, or additives, while keeping them flavourful and texturally appealing.
