From 8 January to 28 February 2024, you can get to savour an array of delicious yet guilt-free treats from Baker X's latest resident baker, Happy Low Carb Time.

Next in line to take up residency at Baker X is Happy Low Carb Time (@happylowcarbtime). Lucy Asnum, motivated by her children’s dietary restrictions, ventured into the world of baking to create low-sugar desserts for them. After her family embraced the Ketogenic lifestyle in 2018, Lucy established Happy Low Carb Time with a mission to craft a variety of desserts that cater not only to the keto lifestyle, but also redefining guilt-free enjoyment. At the core of Happy Low Carb Time Bakery lies Lucy's personal journey, dedication to quality, and passion for innovation. She aims to create enticing treats that enhance the keto experience and spread joy with each delectable creation.

About Baker X

Launched in December 2021 by Far East Organization, Baker X aims to support home-based bakers by providing them with an opportunity to have first-hand experience running a brick-and-mortar storefront and interacting with customers face-to-face with a fully fitted baking studio and a 20-seater café. Patrons can dine in or takeaway the baked goods at the café on Level 4 of Orchard Central (opposite Genki Sushi). The café is operated in tandem with social enterprise, Tea Ideas. There will be a line-up of bakers throughout the year, and each baker will be in residence for between 2 to 6 weeks.

Signature Cakes

During Happy Low Carb Time’s residency, be spoilt for choice with their signature cakes. The Lychee Rose Cake ($9 per slice) features a keto-friendly lychee chiffon studded with juicy lychees, and frosted with layers of light, pillowy fresh cream infused with fragrances of lychee and rose. The finishing touches are whole lychees and rose petals atop piped Chantilly cream. Enjoy layers of fluffy and moist pandan cake sandwiched with keto gula melaka sauce in the Ondeh Ondeh Cake ($9 per slice), enveloped with a mascarpone cream rich with the fragrance of gula melaka and fresh grated coconut. 

New Cake Flavours

Newly launched at Baker X, the Pandan Orh Nee Cake ($9 per slice) combines pandan chiffon and fresh mascarpone whipped with yam paste, paying homage to local flavours and recalling traditional orh nee desserts. Her range of new cake flavours also includes Matcha Chocolate Cake ($9 per slice), Salted Caramel Chocolate Cake ($9.50 per slice) and Lychee Jelly Basque Burnt Cheesecake ($9 per slice).

Savoury Bakes

Lovers of savoury bakes can delight in a selection of treats such as Cheesy Curry Chicken Pizza ($5 per slice), Vege Pizza ($4 per slice), Garlic Butter Cream Cheese Bun ($7) and Keto Chicken Floss Bun ($6).
