Located along Henderson Road, Sprout Hub, managed by City Sprout, is an urban farm for families to have fun and appreciate nature within an urban setting.
City Sprout has developed a wide range of community-focused programs and activation, all of which customisable to meet the needs of different social groups. These include learning journey, educational program, guided farm tours and more. You will often find sustainability-focused programmes organised at the venue for families, like the Farm-to-Table workshop that we attended.
Here's what you can expect when you visit Sprout Hub.
Canteen

Don't worry about your meals! You will find a spacious canteen at Sprout Hub with food such as pastas, noodles, and a drink stall too! The canteen is also pet-friendly too!
If you find the layout familiar, this is because Sprout Hub uses the old Henderson Secondary School building, and this is the canteen of the school.
Allotment Farms
There are 26 allotment farms at Sprout Hub. The farms are free to visit from the outside, but you may be lucky to meet one of the farmers who might agree to let you enter the farm (if you ask nicely). Otherwise, do consider going on a guided tour.
Messy Play
New to Sprout Hub is a messy and nature play area where kids can have fun before or after their programmes. It is free to visit and includes a little obstacle course, sandpit, scribble board and a mud kitchen! You will also find a nice sheltered treehouse at the side to rest or to have a picnic at!
What To Bring
If you are intending to visit the messy play, you may wish to bring extra clothes, water or bucket for water to wash up (the toilets are away from the play area), and spades/pails for the sand play. Don't forget mosquito repellent and sunblock too!
How To Get To Sprout Hub
Sprout Hub is located at 102 Henderson Road. The most convenient MRT Stations are Redhill MRT Station and Tiong Bahru MRT Station.
By Public Transport
- From Redhill MRT Station, take EXIT A and board bus service 132 or 145. Alight at the 4th stop (Blk 116).
- From Tiong Bahru MRT Station, take EXIT A and board bus service 16 or 851 (opposite Tiong Bahru Plaza). Alight at the 3rd stop (Blk 116).
- From the bus stop, turn right from alighting and cross the traffic light. Turn left and follow the sheltered walkway.
By Car
Simply search Sprout Hub via Google Maps. Note that parking is free but limited.
