A Long-Awaited Reopening for Family Fun

One of Singapore’s largest and most well-loved swimming complexes has partially reopened, bringing back plenty of water fun for families. Located within the Jurong East Sports Centre, the refreshed Jurong East Swimming Complex now focuses on family-friendly features, including a revamped water play area, kiddy pools, wave pool, and lazy river.

While the main competition pool remains closed (expected till end-2026), there’s still more than enough here to keep kids happily splashing for hours.

New Water Play Area

The biggest update is the brand-new splash pad, which replaces the former iconic multi-spiral water slide tower.

Designed with younger children in mind, this lively space features spraying fountains, water jets, water tunnels, and overhead elements, along with tipping buckets that deliver surprise splashes from above. Kids can also look out for a playful “spider” structure and enjoy mini slides for added fun.

Altogether, it’s an energetic free-play zone where little ones can run, splash, and cool off—perfect for Singapore’s warm weather.

Kiddy Pools for Little Ones

Families with toddlers will appreciate the pair of shallow kiddy pools near the entrance. With depths of just 0.35m and 0.5m, these pools are safe and accessible for younger swimmers.

One pool even features a marine-themed play structure with slides and water jets, sparking imaginative underwater adventures.

Wave Pool Thrills

A highlight that remains unchanged is the popular wave pool. Reaching depths of up to 1.8 metres, it offers gentle to moderate waves that are fun for both kids and adults. Access is via a bridge over the lazy river—adding a sense of adventure even before you hit the water.

Relax Along the Lazy River

Encircling the wave pool, the lazy river offers a relaxing escape at a slower pace. Hop on an inflatable float and drift along gentle currents as you pass water jets and cascading curtains, shaded tunnels, and bridges set amidst lush landscaping. It’s an easy, enjoyable way for parents to unwind while the kids have fun along the ride.

What’s Missing (For Now)

Regular swimmers should note that the competition pool remains closed and is expected to reopen only towards the end of 2026. In the meantime, those looking to clock laps can consider the other ActiveSG swimming facility at Jurong Lake Gardens as an alternative.

Family-Friendly Toilet Facilities & Amenities

Another welcome upgrade at Jurong East Swimming Complex is the improved toilet and shower facilities. The restrooms have been renovated and are now noticeably cleaner, with better-maintained toilet and shower areas for families to freshen up comfortably after a swim. It’s a small but important detail that makes the overall experience much more pleasant, especially when visiting with young kids.

What To Bring

Bring along towels and a change of clothes, and remember to be properly attired for water play. Other useful items include sunscreen, insect repellent, and water bottles—and don’t forget to pack some snacks for a quick energy boost during your visit!

Purchase A Swim Pass To Enter

To enter Jurong East Swimming Complex, visitors will need to purchase an ActiveSG swim pass via the ActiveSG app or the MyActiveSG+ website. As a feature pool facility, a “Feature Pool” pass is required. Once booked, a QR code will be generated for scanning at the entrance.

Admission is affordable, with prices typically ranging from around $0.80 to $2.60 per session, depending on age group and weekday or weekend rates.

Close Proximity to Dining Options

One of the added perks of visiting Jurong East Swimming Complex is its convenient location near plenty of food options. Just a short walk away, you’ll find Yuhua Place Market and Hawker Centre, where you can refuel with a wide variety of local favourites. There are also several nearby coffeeshops and casual dining spots in the area, making it easy to plan a full day out!

Getting There

The swimming complex is easily accessible by public transport and car. The nearest MRT station is Chinese Garden (EW25), located approximately a 13-minute walk away.

Those taking the bus can alight at nearby stops such as Opposite Jurong Lake, Blk 316, or Opposite Jurong Polyclinic, all within a short walking distance. For those driving, parking is available at the Jurong East Sports Complex.

A Great Spot for a Cooling Family Day Out

Despite the partial reopening, it remains a fantastic destination for families. With its mix of active play areas and relaxing water features, it’s an easy, affordable way to spend a fun day out—especially on hot days when everyone just wants to cool off.
