We love sunny Singapore but getting scorched all year round can get rough. This is probably one of the reasons many of us relish going to the pool. After all, there is nothing as fun and refreshing as playing in the water on a toasty afternoon.

Thankfully, there is a public pool in almost every neighbourhood. We have compiled a list of kid-friendly swimming spaces with fun features like fountains, waterslides and pools with a view. Whether you’re a serious swimmer or are just looking to make some splashes, here are the best swimming pools to check out in Singapore!

North East

1. Sengkang Swimming Complex

The Sengkang Swimming Complex may be a little out of the way, especially if you are not from the North-east area, but it is well worth the trip if you love water slides. You have got eight colourful giant slides from open-top slides to twisty tube slides to keep you and the children entertained for hours. The slides do have a minimum height requirement of 1.2m but don’t worry, the little ones are not forgotten at this water venue. Tots get their own water thrill at the fun pool, which features toddler-friendly slides, water sprays and a huge bucket that dumps down water periodically. While the kiddies are busy getting soaked, parents can relax in the jacuzzi pool. If you would like to practice your backstroke, there are also two Olympic-sized pools.

2. Splash @ Kidz Amaze

Located at SAFRA Punggol, Splash @ Kidz Amaze is Singapore’s first indoor water playground. Spanning 23,000 square feet, this Enchanted Deep Sea-themed facility offers plenty of splish-splash action. The main play structure features eight play decks and a whooping five different slides interconnected by climbing structures alongside jet sprays and a huge splash bucket. For the little ones, there is a separate wading area with gentle water sprays, fountains and small slides. Water temperature is regulated at this indoor water park, so children (and adults) can indulge in water play whenever they want, regardless of the weather.  

3. Pasir Ris Swimming Complex

The Pasir Ris Swimming Complex has something for everyone. The kiddies can play at the fun pool, featuring small slides, sprinklers and water buckets, while the older kids and adults can go for a glide down the big slides. There are two slides here - one with twists and turns and another that will plunge you straight down to the pool. There is also a jacuzzi, a teaching pool and a competition pool. Additionally, this swimming complex also has several eco-friendly design features to boast, such as a rainwater-harvesting system to water the surrounding plants and ambient heat-reducing landscaping (a thankful feature amidst the Singapore weather). 

4. Wild Wild Wet

As one of the largest water parks in Singapore, Wild Wild Wet offers a buffet of water slides and rides, ranging from the wild Slide Up, a four-storey plunge to the mild Shiok River and Tsunami Swimming Pool. Little thrill-seekers are not left out of the equation as they can experience child-sized thrills at the mini rides at the Kidz Zone. The water park also has water cannons, fountains, water jets, open-top slides, tube slides, and splash buckets to keep the kiddies entertained for the afternoon. For the smaller tots, there is a shallow pool with soft play equipment. With so much to offer, there is surely something to keep everyone happy at Wild Wild Wet!

The panoramic view we get of the city is not the only reason we love the Tampines Swimming Complex, but it is one of the reasons. This rooftop venue houses a total of six pools - a training pool, a 10-lane competition pool, a multi-purpose pool for events, a jacuzzi pool to loosen your muscles, an interactive pool and a wading pool. The latter two are more for the little ones with the garden-themed interactive pool featuring water play tables, water fountains, water guns, and a small waterfall. 

Central

6. Splash-N-Surf

This one is more for the kids than the adults but parents can still have a good time. Splash-N-Surf has all the fun water play elements you can find at a water park, from slides of varying heights to gentle water jets, quirky-looking water sprays and sprinklers all around to get the kiddies drenched. When the kids get tired of splashing about at the brightly coloured water playground, they can take a break and go for a dip at the kids’ pool. Little tots who are still getting used to pools, they can dip their feet into the water by getting on one of the yellow buckets on a carousel! This outdoor water play facility also has a lazy river where you can drift around the water park along with your children. The leisurely ride provides a sweeping view of the central business district.

7. Swimming Pool @ SAFRA Toa Payoh

Home to one of the best indoor playgrounds in Singapore, Kidz Amaze, SAFRA Toa Payoh is already on the favourites list of many families. Add in a bright and spacious swimming pool and it’s another reason why the club should be on your list! Kids will love splashing around at the wading pool, which is fitted with adorable fish water cannons. There is also a separate water play area with a variety of water sprays and misters. For parents who would like to get some serious swimming done, there is a training pool and a six-lane Olympic-sized pool.

Do note that you will have to be a SAFRA member to access the pool, otherwise, you will need a friend with a membership to sign you in. Each SAFRA member can only sign in three guests per day.

South West

8. Jurong East Swimming Complex

For decades, the Jurong East Swimming Complex has been a strong favourite among many and it still is today. With not one, but three giant spiral slides of varying heights and thrill rates, it’s not hard to see why. Once you’ve had your fill of thrills, you can head over to chill at the wave pool, soak in the jacuzzi pool or go for a gentle ride along the lazy river. For the younger ones, there is the kiddy pool with sprays, sprinklers and fountains. There is also a competition pool for serious swimmers.

9. Jurong West Swimming Complex

The Jurong West Swimming Complex may be slightly smaller compared to its Jurong East counterpart but it will still keep the family entertained for the afternoon. There is a jacuzzi pool, a lazy river, two Olympic-sized pools where you can work on your lap time, and a kiddy pool, which is fitted with a play structure that has two slides and loads of water sprays. Kids (taller than 1.2m) looking for more of an adventure can opt for the three-storey slide. The tall blue tube slide that snakes around the kiddy pool area make for quite a ride and the adrenaline rush will keep the kids going back for more.

10. Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex

Another great place for West-siders to visit is the recently revamped Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex. Though the towering spiral slide is now gone, in its place stand two new brightly coloured slides - one narrow and another broad enough to slide down with a partner. The kiddy pool has plenty of splash-action going on with sprinklers, sprays, a slide and a small waterfall. The swimming complex also has a competition pool, a training pool and a wave pool.

North West

11. Senja-Cashew Swimming Complex

Within the Senja-Cashew Community Club sits the modest Senja-Cashew Swimming Complex. The facility sports an eight-lane swimming pool, an infinity pool with a jacuzzi and a shallow pool with a playground. The play structure fitted with water streams, a slide and interactive boards only take up a small space in the shallow pool, allowing kids plenty of space to freely swim and wade around. Though it is a small-scale swimming complex, the place is quite a hit among the families in the area.

12. Swimming Pool @ SAFRA Yishun

The swimming pool at SAFRA Yishun gives off beach-resort vibes with its cerulean pool, rows of deck chairs, big umbrellas, and verdant trees. Not only do you get to swim with a view, but you also get to make big splashes at the hulking rock structure fronting the outdoor rock climbing wall. Built in with slides and a mini waterfall, it’s huge fun. As a bonus, the different pools are connected by water linkways, so you don’t have to pad over scorching tiles to head over to the next pool!

The kiddies also get their share of splash action over at the pirate-themed shallow pool. In the pool sits a little island with slides surrounded by water, water cannons, sprinklers and water misters, which is perfect for imaginative water play.

Like with the swimming pool at SAFRA Toa Payoh, you will need a friend with a SAFRA membership to enter the pool and each member can only sign in three guests per day.
