The ages-old childhood game of hide-and-seek has taken to the digital world this school holidays thanks to the National Heritage Board. Ai Love Museums: Hide-N-Seek is one of the numerous programs happening this Children’s Season.
Meet Ai, an adorable 6-year-old boy who travels the world and shares a strong bond with his grandfather. Not only will Ai be making appearances in the virtual Hide-N-Seek game, but he will also be visiting the various museums in Singapore!
Designed by Singaporean artist Peter Draw, the game and on-site standees will feature different versions of Ai, which have been designed to reflect the unique features of each of the 22 partner museums (see below for full list).
From 21 Nov to 30 Nov 2020, you will be able to catch all 22 Ai standees on display at the Malay Heritage Centre’s lawn. From 3 Dec 2020 onwards, they will be relocated to their respective host museums, where you can then embark on a physical hunt to locate the hidden individual Ai standees.

You can also go on a virtual hunt for Ai through the Ai Love Museums: Hide-N-Seek web or mobile game. Navigate panoramic 360° photographs of the Museum Roundtable museums’ spaces to discover clues to hidden treasures which are embedded and hidden behind key spots in the photographs to reveal Ai’s special outfit for the particular museum. Along the way, you can click on icons to read nuggets of information about the featured artefacts or selected spots in the galleries.

The game has 22 levels and each is correspondingly themed to a participating museum. To make the exploration even more fun, the National Heritage Board will be offering weekly giveaways of limited edition drawstring bags, which will feature all the Ai designs.
Ai Love Museums: Hide-N-Seek will be launched on 28 Nov and can be accessed through the Children’s Season 2020 website.
Children’s Season 2020 will run till 3 Jan 2021, presenting over 70 exhibitions and programs in the course. You can find the full list of events on the National Heritage Board’s website and you can also stay updated via the I Love Museums Facebook page.
