From 15 Sep to 3 Oct, expect an assortment of exciting lantern displays and performances at the Mid-Autumn Festival 2021 at Gardens by the Bay.

Based on the theme of “Blessings” (焈犏), this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival at Gardens by the Bay hopes to bring tidings of good health and better days ahead to visitors through the lantern displays.

The highlight is a “Sky Lanterns” set with sky lanterns "floating" up a Supertree against a scenic mountainous backdrop with animals and plants - painting a picture of longevity and prosperity.

As you stroll through the Golden Garden, you will also find the path lined with rabbit lanterns in various poses celebrating the Mid-Autumn festival!

The Colonnade of Lights (North Colonnade) is a vibrant showcase of some 1,000 beautiful paper lanterns created by the community. Get up close with these colourful lanterns designed and hand-painted by people from various walks of life as you enjoy a stroll along the Colonnade.

While you are visiting the lantern displays, don't forget to also checkout the Garden Rhapsody as they present a special rendition, Tales of the Moon, from 15 Sep - 3 Oct 2021.

Another highlight is the “Rabbits Forest” set, featuring adorable rabbit lanterns spreading festive cheer in Flower Dome. This is inspired by an ancient Chinese folk game â€œé‡ć…”ć‘ˆç„„â€, which means “blessings upon the one who meets a rabbit”, the first person to find a rabbit in the Osmanthus tree forest is thought to receive good blessings!

Miffy and her family and friends will also make an appearance! Come and take a selfie with the cute Miffy displays nestled amongst beautiful flowers, in the magical Miffy Gardens! Spot them in the Australian, South American and Mediterranean Gardens.

The Origami Crane Trees can be found at the South African Gardens and is a lantern installation featuring 2,000 colourful paper cranes folded and penned with words of blessings by the community.

Besides lantern displays, there will also be cultural performances on-site on weekends, with selected sessions live-streamed on Gardens by the Bay’s Facebook.

There will also be special Miffy Meet & Greet sessions at the South American Garden at the Flower Dome (admission fees apply)! Come meet and greet Miffy in person for a memorable photo opportunity as she celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival at the Gardens! Meet & Greet sessions will happen on 25 Sep and 2 Oct at 10.30 am, 11.30 am and 12.30 pm, each session will be for 15 mins. 

Registration is required and will be shared soon.

  • 5.30 pm - 6 pm, 7 pm - 7.30 pm, and 8.30 pm - 9 pm
  • 8.30 pm - 9 pm will be Livestreamed on Gardens by the Bay Facebook Page
