The Istana will be open to the public on 1 May 2023 to celebrate Hari Raya Puasa and Labour Day.

The Istana will usually open its grounds to the public 5 days a year for the public to visit and the next open house will be 1 May 2023 to celebrate Hari Raya Puasa and Labour Day!

The open house will include entry to the Istana grounds as well as tours at the main building too. This year, families can also visit the Istana’s enhanced swan pond that features a new viewing deck and garden stream, as well as a curated selection of flowering and fragrant shrubs. There will also be family friendly activities and performances happening as part of the open house!

Istana Combined Open House

To celebrate Labour Day and Hari Raya Puasa, the Istana will be having a combined Istana Open House on 1 May 2023 with a series of live performances and various activity booths! 

Activities include balloon sculpting and henna painting, while student groups will perform at the ceremonial plaza, main tent and reception room from 10.15am to 4pm. There will also be food stalls and a food truck as well as merchandise booths with limited-edition Istana souvenirs and President’s Challenge souvenirs. All fees collected and proceeds from the merchandise booths will go towards charities supported by the President’s Challenge.

Guided and Self-Guided Tours

Visitors can go on a guided tour to view the function rooms and take a look at the collection of state gifts presented to Singapore’s leaders. You may also choose to do a self-guided tour too. 

There will also be a nature guided tour from 10 am to 4 pm for families to explore the Istana's flora and fauna. 

 

 

Ticketing

Entry is free for Singaporeans and PRs, as well as for kids below 4 years old. All other participants will require a $2 fee to enter the Istana grounds. 

There are also fees for the tours.

  • Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents: Adult - Self-guided: $2.00, Guided*: $4.00
  • Standard: Adult - Self-guided: $4.00, Guided*: $10.00
  • Children (4 to 12 years):¬†$2
  • Children (Below 4 years): Free

Nature Guided Tour

  • Adult: $4 (Singaporeans and PRs), $10 (Standard)
  • Children (4 to 12 years): $2
  • Children (Below 4 years): Free

Only cashless payments via SGQR will be accepted.

Points To Note

For security reasons, the following items are NOT allowed within the Istana grounds:

  1. Pointed and sharp objects (e.g. knives of any size, forks)
  2. Flammable items (e.g. lighters)
  3. Canned food and drinks
