The Istana will usually open its grounds to the public 5 days a year for the public to visit and the next open house will be 19 Apr 2026 to celebrate Hari Raya Puasa and Labour Day.
Families will be able to enter the Istana grounds and even take part in tours to find out more about the space. There will usually be live performances, family-friendly activities, merchandise booths, and food stalls to make it a fun-filled experience.Ā
Activities At The Open House

As part of the celebrations,Ā the Istana will be having a series of live performances and family-friendly activities. Families can expect multi-cultural performances and view a collection of state gifts during self-guided tours of the Istana Villa.
Please note the Istana Main Building is currently closed for restoration until further notice.
Istana Heritage Tour

Families can also register for the Istana Heritage Tour to explore the rich history of the Istana grounds. The 1-hour walking tour begins at the Main Gate and features highlights such as the Villa, Japanese Garden, and Ceremonial Plaza. Sign up early for the Istana Heritage TourĀ here.
Tours are conducted in English and Mandarin every hour from 9am to 4pm. Fees apply, and all proceeds go to the benefitting organisations supported by the Presidentās Challenge.Ā
There will be merchandise booths with limited-edition Istana and Presidentās Challenge souvenirs. Souvenirs are while stocks last. Only cashless payments viaĀ Credit/Debit Card and/orĀ QR Codes will be accepted. All proceeds will go towards the benefitting agencies supported by Presidentās Challenge.
Ticketing
Entry into the Istana groundsĀ during the Istana Open House isĀ freeĀ for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents. Other visitors are required to pay a fee of $20 per adult and $10 per child (4 to 12 years old).
There are also fees for the tours.
Istana Villa
- Adult: $2 (Singaporeans and PRs), $10 (Standard)
- Children (4 to 12 years): $2 (Singaporeans and PRs), $5 (Standard)
- Children (Below 4 years): Free
Istana Heritage Tour
- Adult: $8 (Singaporeans and PRs), $30 (Standard)
- Children (4 to 12 years):Ā $4 (Singaporeans and PRs), $12 (Standard)
- Children (Below 4 years): Free

Points To Note
Admission into the IOH is via the Main Gate at Orchard Road only. The nearest MRT station is Dhoby Ghaut. Entry is subject to security checks. There are no storage facilities at the Istana. Security personnel reserve the right to deny entry to visitors with prohibited items.
Also note that wheeled sports (e.g., cycling, rollerblading, riding Personal Mobility Devices) are not allowed. No pets are allowed except certified guide dogs.
