The Lunar New Year Istana Open House (IOH) will be held on Monday, 23 January 2023, 8.30am to 6.00pm.

The Lunar New Year Istana Open House (IOH) will be held on 23 Jan 2023, 8.30am to 6.00pm. The IOH will be open to all visitors. Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents enter for free. All other visitors are required to pay an entrance fee of $2 per person. .

What To Expect

Families can look forward to new features such as the enhanced Swan Pond with a new viewing deck and garden stream, as well as live performances and activity booths. There will also be food stalls and a food truck as well as merchandise booths with limited-edition Istana souvenirs and President’s Challenge souvenirs. All fees collected and proceeds from the merchandise booths will go towards charities supported by the President’s Challenge.

Below are the times for the various performances

  • 9.00am - 10.00am: Chinese Drum Performance by Nan Hua Primary School at Ceremonial Plaza
  • 10.30am - 11.30am: Chinese Dance Performance by Hwa Chong Institution (Alumni) at Ceremonial Plaza
  • 2.00pm - 3.00pm: Band Performance by Montfort Secondary School at Main Tent
  • 2.00pm - 3.00pm: Dance Performance by NAFA School of Young Talents at Ceremonial Plaza
  • 3.40pm - 4.00pm: Musical Performance by NAFA School of Young Talents at Reception Room
  • 4.00pm - 5.00pm: Chinese Drum Performance by Maris Stella High School at Ceremonial Plaza

There will also be activity booths from 8.30 am - 5.40 pm

  • Sharity Booth by Community Chest at Centre Gate Tent
  • Chinese Calligraphy Booth by Cairnhill Community Club at Main Tent
  • Candle-making Workshop and Booth by Anaya Soul Retreat at Main Tent
  • Henna Booth by Cognizant at Main Tent

Entry Fees

Only cashless payments via SGQR will be accepted. Participating payment merchants include Bank of China, Citibank, DBS, HSBC, ICBC, Maybank, OCBC, PayNow, Standard Chartered, and UOB.

Entry is free for Singaporeans and PRs, as well as for kids below 4 years old. All other participants will require a $2 fee to enter the Istana grounds. 

The following fees apply for entry to the Istana Main Building

  • Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents
    • Adult - Self-guided: $2.00, Guided*: $4.00
  • Standard
    • Adult - Self-guided: $4.00, Guided*: $10.00
  • Children (4 to 12 years): $2
  • Children (Below 4 years): Free

    Note: * Guided tours are available on selected days and at selected timings, subject to availability and guide availability.

    The following fees are applicable for the Nature Guided Tour. The Nature Guided Tours are conducted by volunteers from NParks. The tours are limited to 15 persons per group and depart every hour from 10.00am to 4.00pm. All fees collected will go towards charities supported by the President’s Challenge.

    • Adult: $4 (Singaporeans and PRs), $10 (Standard)
    • Children (4 to 12 years): $2
    • Children (Below 4 years): Free
