This year end, parents and their children can look forward to many fun-filled and exciting online and on-site storytelling programmes from the National Library Board (NLB) during the school holidays. 

Online Programmes

Babies Songs And Rhymes

Songs and rhymes are important role in stimulating your baby’s language development. In this virtual session, you will be introduced to simple songs, action rhymes, and finger plays that you can use to interact and bond with your baby at home. This programme is intended for parents with babies up to 12 months.

Toddler Songs And Rhymes

Boost your toddler’s development through an enjoyable virtual session with songs and rhymes. This programme targets parents and toddlers aged 1-3 years old.

NLB's online storytelling sessions, launched since 13 April 2020, in English, Malay, Chinese and Tamil have been popular with patrons. The sessions are around 5 to 15 minutes long and have been hosted by librarians, volunteers and local authors.

Join local author, Nur’afifah Binte Mohd Hussain, on an exploratory journey based on her English children’s book, “Growing Kitchen Scraps”.  Participants will learn how to upcycle and repurpose kitchen scraps without letting them go to waste through a storytelling and hands-on activity!

This programme is suitable for children aged 6-9 years old.
