Ice Magic: The Great Fantasy on Ice will transport Singaporeans away from the heat of our tropical island to a winter wonderland during this year’s festive season.
*Updated 3 Dec 2022: Added photos from opening day.
Venue: Bayfront Event Space
Dates: 1 Dec 2022 to 1 Jan 2023
Admission: from $25 (check KKday for pricing)
Open to families from 1 Dec 2022 to 1 Jan 2023, Ice Magic: The Great Fantasy on Ice will be the biggest pop-up winter-themed attraction to ever set foot in Singapore, bringing real ice and snow activities to Singaporeans longing for a winter holiday - time to swap out your summer-wear for snuggly coats, hats and gloves.
This 2,400 sqm winter wonderland playland will be at the Bayfront Event Space for just 1 month, and is part of the The Great Bay Fiesta, held in conjunction with Marina Bay Singapore Countdown 2023.
Snow & Ice Sections
The event will be held within an indoor tentage at the Bayfront Event Space, and it will be the tallest tent ever erected in Singapore at 11.5m, and will be divided into the Snow and Ice sections.
Snow Section - Authentic Snow Experience
Created using the same snow-making machines used in the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022, the machines are specially flown in to give visitors the authentic experience of real snow!
The snow will be created 20 days before the opening - the snow machines will be pumping fresh, fluffy crystal white snow that is cleaner than natural snow found in wintering countries.
Families who have never experienced snow, this can be your first experience where you can get your first taste of building a snowman, making snow angels, and even bouncing off ‘snow clouds', all while experiencing daily snowfalls of fresh snow. There will also be a 70m snow slope, the longest and tallest snow slope ever constructed in Singapore, where you can slide down from!
Ice Section - Unique Ice Games
The Ice Section will bring a variety of attractions that have never been seen in Singapore before, including Ice Bowling and the classic Winter Olympic sport - Ice Curling. The section will also feature a 260 sqm ice cycling rink, with single and tandem bikes for both parents and young kids.
You will not miss the 4.5m high figure-8 Ice Slide, constructed purely out of ice and complemented by elaborate ice sculptures, crafted by master ice sculptors from Harbin, China, the home of the famous Harbin Ice Festival.
For those who like a cold drink, you don't have to worry about it getting warm at the Ice Bar! There will be a variety of ice cold beers and bespoke ice-themed cocktails for you to purchase too!
The Ice Magic Festival
The Ice Magic festival has been an iconic annual performance hosted in Beijing since 2009 and it is the first time in Singapore. After Singapore, the organisers plan to bring Ice Magic to more countries in the region.
