Tucked into the hillside at Yew Tee Park is a 20-metre-long slide that might just surprise you. With climbing tunnels, bridges and plenty of space to explore, itâs an easy playground stop for families in the west

Location: Choa Chu Kang North 6
Opening Hours:Â Daily 24hrs (7pm - 7am, park lighting)
Admission: Free
Who would have thought that weâd find this monstrous 20-metre-long slide in the middle of Yew Tee Park?! The playground is split into two parts, but we recommend starting your adventure by running up a short flight of steps built into the hillside. Are you ready?
But wait, thereâs more fun to be had before the slide

There are two ways to get to the top of the structure â an easier white ladder or, our personal favourite, through a vertical tunnel of colourful rings. The rings might seem daunting at first sight, but donât worry. They are secured in place and donât move around, making for a smooth climb.

Get from one end to the other via a suspended tunnel. Braver kids can hop across the hanging V-shaped structures, whilst younger ones can easily walk across the net below. The net has small holes, so you wonât have to worry about them falling through.

Once youâre ready, take the slide down to the bottom! The slide is covered in a cool green mesh; however, this means that the slide is completely exposed to the elements. Take caution that it might be quite hot depending on the time of day, or especially if it was heated up earlier in the afternoon. The slide isnât steep either, meaning it doesnât go fast â making it suitable for kids of all ages.
The fun continues at the bottom of the slide

Here, youâll find a roller slide that goes considerably faster than the large one. Grab a buddy, and have a little competition at the adjacent climbing rock wall and frame. Who can climb to the top first?

Tunnel through suspended rings, and even do a little climbing at the hexagonal climbing ropes.

Learning is integrated into play with sliding number boards. Otherwise, have a whirl on the merry-go-round.

We really like how there are three types of swings here. Try the theme-park-shaped one (complete with a safety harness!), the classic swing, or the double swing that can fit two people at a go.
What to Bring
Pack items like a water bottle, insect repellent, a sunhat, and snacks. If your daughter has long hair, donât forget to bring some hairties and clips to keep her hair out of her face.
Our Experience
The slide looks amazing at first glance, but doesnât offer the smoothest ride. Thereâs quite a lot of friction along the way, and you might have to push yourself along. Nevertheless, itâs definitely worth a try! P.S. There are a few pavilions with BBQ pits, making it easy to seek shelter should there be a sudden downpour.
Location
To get there, park at the multi-storey carpark found at Block 610A Choa Chu Kang Street 62. Alternatively, the playground is a 11-minute walk from Yew Tee MRT station.
