Here’s a detailed guide to what you can expect and why this new playground is a must-visit for families!
A Playground for Every Kind of Play
Tampines GreenCourt features three distinct playground zones, each thoughtfully crafted to engage and delight kids while keeping parents intrigued by the design.
Origami Rock Playground (Block 635B)
This playground consist of structures with colours and unique folds inspired by origami art. The structures also resemble rock climbing boulders, making it a climber's dream!
Kids can test their strength and coordination and go on a climbing adventure by scaling the angular structures and cargo nets. With many hidden corners, the playground is also great for catch or hide-and-seek too!
Hide from the sun underneath the main green structure, but that's not all! Here, a little purple slide is waiting to be discovered, accessible via hand and footholds.
The play area is padded with different play elements, including swinging hammocks and an embedded trampoline to add more dimensions of play.
This area is not only visually stunning but also encourages kids to explore and imagine.
Terraced Playground with Netted Tower (Block 630A)
Inspired by terraced landscapes, this playground is great for younger kids to develop their climbing and balancing skills. The different layers at the playground is interestingly demarcated with green dashes. Perhaps it is a way for younger ones to visualise the climb and to make it easier for them to scale the layers.
There are 2 towers of different heights to cater to different ages, with different climbing elements for kids to scale the towers! Climb up the higher tower to get a view across the entire play space!
Around the towers are different structures and play experiences. Kids can also swing on the hanging hammocks, conquer the yellow netted bridge, climb into the crawl space or balance across the narrow blue net bridge.
Storybook Playground for Toddlers (Block 633B)
A short distance away, you will find this whimsical area that looks straight out of a fairytale and designed with toddlers in mind. The castle-themed design with 2 towers, slides and sensory play elements allows little ones to be immerse in pretend play!
Children can imagine themselves as brave knights on a quest or royalty residing in a grand castle. Adding to the fun, there are animal-shaped climbing structures, including an elephant and a giraffe, where little ones can climb and pretend they’re riding these majestic creatures!
We didn't see it ourselves, but we read that there are QR codes around the playground where you can scan and unlock an interactive app, featuring The Ugly Duckling. This is quite a novel touch for an outdoor playground.
Things to Note Before Visiting
While the Tampines GreenCourt playgrounds are packed with fun, a few practical tips will help make your visit smoother:
- Insects: The newness of the estate and nearby greenery mean you might encounter bugs, especially during the rainy season. Pack insect repellent!
- Hilly Terrain: Uneven stairs and surfaces require caution. Keep an eye on young kids to avoid trips and slips.
- Weather: The rooftop garden setting can get warm under the sun, so bring hats and plenty of water.
