While physical visits to the Fire Station open house is temporarily suspended, here are the alternatives to learn more about the roles firemen play in Singapore!

Physical Fire Station Open House is temporarily suspended till further notice. Instead, the SCDF has started Virtual Fire Station Open Houses for families to take part in. Through these virtual open houses, you and your kids can learn about the daily activities undertaken by the personnel in the Fire Station and the various types of emergency appliances like the fire engine and ambulances that are based in each station.

For physical visits, you may also wish to apply for a visit to the Civil Defence Heritage Gallery (CDHG) and Emergency Preparedness Centre (EPC), both are open for scheduled visits. Read on for more details. 

Virtual Fire Station Open House

Families may request to take part in a virtual fire station open house conducted via Zoom. Open Houses will be conducted in Central Fire Station, Tampines Fire Station, Yishun Fire Station, and Jurong Fire Station. 

Through the open house, you will still get to take peek into the Fire Stations and the activities of our Firemen! The tour programme is included below. 

  • Introduction & Welcome Video by Commander Fire Station
  • Sharing on Station Routine & Emergency Vehicles
  • Sharing of Public Education Advisories
  • Introduction to SCDF’s Community Emergency Preparedness Programme (CEPP) and myResponder app
  • End of Session and Virtual Photo-Taking Session

Civil Defence Heritage Gallery & Emergency Preparedness Centre (EPC)

Location: 62 Hill St, Singapore 179367
Opening Hours: 10 am - 4 pm (Closed Mon)
Fee: Free

Both the Civil Defence Heritage Gallery (CDHG) and Emergency Preparedness Centre (EPC) are open for scheduled visits. There is no walk-in allowed, and all visitors must pre-register and visits are limited to 45 mins each. 

Located at the Central Fire Station, the 1st floor houses the CDHG and the 2nd is the EPC. Here's what you can expect when you visit!

Embark on a tour of the past and learn about the latest fire fighting and rescue technology developed and used by the SCDF. You will get to see some of the olden fire trucks and equipment used. Remember to capture photos for your memories too! 

There are customised interactive stations for a close-up experience of what fire fighters and rescuers undergo in an operation.

Emergency Preparedness Centre

The EPC houses visual and interactive exhibits to impart emergency preparedness knowledge and skills to visitors. You can expect to learn more about the various tools, equipment, vehicles and know-hows that the SCDF deploys in its missions. 

Other exhibits include the fire extinguisher simulator which discharges water onto a video wall depicting a few incipient fire scenarios as well as interactive mannequins for visitors to try out the Heimlich manoeuvre and CPR procedure.
