Just when we thought the Bidadari area couldn’t get any better for kids… it does. Nestled in ParkEdge @ Bidadari is the most adorable squirrel playground, and it shouts fun for all ages! Even the photos are just simply so cute!

Go Nuts with a Good Climbing Challenge

Older kids will love the vertical climbing structure hidden inside the squirrel. You know what they say, never judge a book by its cover — this one’s cute on the outside, with a good challenge on the inside.

Let your not-so-little ones make their way up a rock climbing wall (don’t worry, there are additional ropes for support) and slanted climbing nets to the top. It's a challenge with a sense of accomplishment!

From the top, peer out of the Squirrel's eye and wave hello - time to grab a photo too! Climb down, clamber up the other side, and whiz down a curved tunnel slide - mission accomplished!

The Fun Continues with Other Play Elements

That's not all! Continue having adventurous fun at the various obstacle play equipment! Think you’re good at balancing? Put your skills to the test with these suspended discs and make your way across the playground!

You will also fin a big netted climbing frame at the playground that is a sure hit with the older kids. Challenge to see who can climb up the fastest or watch them hang out at the net to discuss the latest trends among the themslves!

And of course, what’s a playground without a good old swing set? Take a swing on the 2 swings available at the playground!

There’s a Second Playground Right Around the Corner

The fun does not end yet! If all that climbing proves too much for your kids, there’s another playground nearby that’ll be easier to handle. However, that doesn’t mean that it skimps on the fun!

The climbing and play elements here are smaller in scale, making it much easier for younger kids. Watch them scurry up mini rock walls, scale small climbing frames, cross a bridge, and zoom down a slide.

Our kids had the best time playing a make-believe game of dungeons and dragons, where they valiantly defended this tower from a fire-breathing dragon. Oh, the power of imagination!

You did not see it wrongly! Spot the snail-shaped play structure for toddlers as well! It has a few circular tunnels, as well as a small and gentle slide for the younger ones to have a snaily good time!

For the young ones, we especially loved the interactive boards, which were themed after various animals - aligned with the overall theme of teh playgrounds!

What to Bring

The kids will spend lots of time running around at each playground, so do remember to visit with a full bottle of water! We didn’t encounter any mosquitoes, but it might be good to have some mosquito patches on hand.

Our Experience

Overall, we appreciated how balanced the play elements were, and how there seemed to be something for every age group. However, the second playground is located right next to a preschool, and will usually be swarmed with kids in the evening.

Take this as a great chance for your kids to make new friends or, if you prefer a quieter experience, time your visit for after dusk. Look how empty the playground is at night!

If you’d like, you can even dabao dinner from the nearby coffeeshop for a little picnic. The pavilion is comfortable and well lit, plus the kids can continue their play after filling their tummies — it’s a win win!

Location

The squirrel playground is located in front of Block 227A, whilst the second playground (with the snail-shaped structure) is at Block 227, where the multi-storey carpark is. The playgrounds are a 11-minute and 17-minute walk from Bartley and Woodleigh MRT stations respectively; alternatively, take a 11-minute bus ride from Potong Pasir MRT station, followed by a four-minute walk.
