Macpherson Weave: Run Around in a Maze Made With Miniature HDB Blocks

Looking for a different play experience? Head on down to Macpherson Weave, where a winding maze in the form of a miniature HDB estate lies in wait.

The maze starts with these two dragon heads from the famous Toa Payoh dragon playground. Climb up and down a small set of stairs, and get ready to run!

Wind in and out of alleys, and hurtle around the bends in a game of hide-and-seek. Along the way, see if you can find iconic Singaporean food icons like a traditional ice cream sandwich, a drinks cart, and a piping cup of kopi o.

 Use the telescope to see what’s over the next wall. What can you see?

We love the mosaic patterning, which makes the partitions look just like our HDB blocks. The partitions are all really low, making it easy for parents to see where their kids are at all times. This was a big plus point for us!

Need a break? The nearby rest area fits the theme perfectly, and offers plenty of space for everyone.

What to Bring

Wear good shoes and breathable clothing, as you can expect to do lots of running! A water bottle and insect repellent are good to have too. As there’s still some construction going on in the new BTO estate, it’d be nice to have some wet tissues to clean up after the play session as some parts can be a little dusty.

Our Experience

We liked this playground’s maze theme, as it was something different from the other playgrounds that we frequent. Unfortunately, after a few rounds of hide-and-seek, the kids got bored pretty quickly. However, we did like the playground’s proximity to the MRT station, which also meant that toilets were in easy reach.

Location

The playground is located next to Block 99A of Macpherson Weave. It’s a short walk from the multi-storey carpark at Block 96, and is conveniently located next to Macpherson MRT.
