Live Performances, Activities And More At The Deepavali Istana Open House

The Deepavali Istana Open House (IOH) will be held on Monday, 24 October 2022, 8.30am to 6.00pm. The IOH will be open to all visitors!

Admission: Free for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents

The Istana will be open to public on Monday, 24 Oct 2022, in celebration of Deepavali! Families can expect various performances and activities including art and game booths, candle making and balloon sculpting! 

Performances by Schools

Visitors will also get to catch musical, band and dance performances by students from various schools, including CHIJ Katong Convent, NAFA School of Young Talents, Xinmin Secondary School and Clementi Town Secondary School.

Food Trucks 

You don't have worry about going hungry as there will be several food trucks including a Halal truck, Goodburger truck, Udders Ice Cream truck and a drinks booth. 

Guided Tours

There will also be guided tours of the Istana main building from 9am to 2.30pm and 4.30pm to 5pm. During the tours, you will get to view selected function rooms as well as the collection of state gifts presented to Singapore's leaders.

Those interested in nature will want to join the nature guided tour of the enhanced Japanese Garden and the Inclusive Garden to explore the Istana's flora and fauna from 10am to 4pm

 

Entrance Fee

Admission to the Istana grounds is free for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents. All other visitors are required to pay an entrance fee of $2 per person. 

Fees for the guided tours are as follows

  • Entry to Istana Main Building 
    • Adults (Singapore citizens, permanent residents): $2 (self-guided), $4 (guided)
    • Adults (Standard): $4 (self-guided), $10 (guided)
    • Children between 4 - 12 years old: $2 (for all categories)
    • Children below 4 years old: Free (for all categories)

The Istana Main Building Guided Tours are conducted by volunteers from the National Heritage Board. The tours are limited to 15 persons per group and depart every 30 minutes from 9.00am to 2.30pm and 4.30pm to 5.00pm. All fees collected will go towards charities supported by President’s Challenge.

  • Nature Guided Tour
    • Adults (Singapore citizens, permanent residents): $4 
    • Adults (Standard): $10
    • Children between 4 - 12 years old: $2 (for all categories)
    • Children below 4 years old: Free (for all categories)

The Nature Guided Tours are conducted by volunteers from NParks. The tours are limited to 15 persons per group and depart every hour from 10.00am to 4.00pm. All fees collected will go towards charities supported by President’s Challenge.

Only cashless payment via PayNow will be accepted.

Entrance to the grounds is via the main gate at Orchard Road.
