3. Get Active, Try Para-Sports and Join the Walkathon at Paralympic Day 2026 at East Coast Park

Venue: Angsana Green, East Coast Park
Dates: 29 Aug 2026, 9 am onwards
Admisison: Free

Looking for a meaningful way to spend a Saturday morning with the family? The inaugural Paralympic Day at East Coast Park is a fantastic opportunity to introduce your little ones to the values of resilience and sportsmanship. Held in support of Singapore’s para-athletes heading to the Asian Para Games Nagoya 2026, this event is packed with action that balances high-energy fun with an inspiring message. Prime Minister Lawrence Wong will even be flagging off the main festivities, making it a truly special community milestone to experience together.

Families can look forward to unique para-sports tryouts that offer kids a hands-on perspective on how these incredible athletes compete. From laser shooting and hand cycling to sitting volleyball, wheelchair rugby, and frame running, it is a brilliant, interactive way to learn through play. Beyond the sports, the event area transforms into a vibrant carnival featuring classic family-friendly favourites like a bouncy castle, pony feeding, handicraft stations, and a Canon photobooth to capture your day's memories.

The highlight of the morning is the 3km Walkathon, designed to be completely inclusive and manageable for all fitness levels and ages—meaning grandparents and toddlers in strollers can easily join in. While the event and the walk are entirely free to join, registration scores each participant a complimentary event pack containing a race tee and a goodie bag. It is an ideal weekend outing that perfectly blends active outdoor play with a deeply meaningful cause.

So don't wait and register for Paralympic Day!

5. Explore Aviation History at the
Newly Reopened Singapore Air Force Museum

Location: 400 Airport Road
Date: Closed on Wednesdays
Hours: 10 am to 5 pm
Admission: Free for Singapore residents

The Singapore Air Force Museum has reopened after a makeover, offering families an interactive way to explore Singapore’s aviation history. We spent about 1.5 hours here and found plenty to keep even our young child engaged.

Start at the Level 1 outdoor gallery, where you can walk among retired RSAF fighter jets, drones and transport aircraft. Kids can also climb into two child-sized planes and burn off energy at the partially shaded C-130-themed playground. Don’t miss the five-minute What If film, which runs hourly from 11am to 4pm.

Upstairs, five indoor galleries feature interactive displays, aviation history, simulations and immersive experiences. Highlights include an AI photo spot where kids can dress virtually as pilots, a three-player mission simulation, and Homeward, a five-minute film with vibrating seats and cockpit effects.

Before leaving, check out additional aircraft exhibits at the carpark. The museum is largely indoors and has onsite parking, making it a convenient option for a family outing.
