Step into a world of arts, culture, and hands-on fun at Stamford Arts Centre’s A Date with Tradition 2025. Celebrate SG60 with NTUC Club through exciting family activities and special perks. Soak in light, art, and adventure at the Singapore Night Festival 2025 in the Bras Basah.Bugis Precinct. Level up your play at TableCon Quest 2025, Singapore’s biggest tabletop gaming convention at Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre. 1. Celebrate Arts & Culture at Stamford Arts Centre's A Date with Tradition 2025

This August, A Date with Tradition 2025 (ADWT) returns to Stamford Arts Centre with three weekends of arts, culture, and community, reimagining heritage through over 20 exciting programmes.

Families can wander through immersive installations like Earthsong, a meditative soundscape of Indigenous Thai traditions, or The Garden of Stories, a kampung-inspired sound installation featuring everyday objects from the 1950s–60s. Kids will love joining Dance Quest (ages 5–10) to explore Indian classical dance through play, or catching lively roving performances of Chinese opera, traditional flute music, and pop-up showcases by Ding Yi Music Company. For hands-on fun, try shadow puppetry, calligraphy in gold, Indian wood block printing, gamelan rhythm-making, rangoli, batik crafts, and even nostalgic childhood games like Five Stones and Hopscotch. Visitors can also co-create murals and community artworks, making every experience interactive and memorable.

2. Dive Into Mermaid Tales and SG60 Fun at NTUC Club

Date: now till Oct 2025

From now to October 2025, NTUC Club celebrates Singapore’s 60th birthday with SG60 with NTUC Club — six months of family fun, exclusive perks, and community spirit.

A highlight for families is the return of Mermaid Tales at Wild Wild Wet in August, where Singapore’s first mermaid, Syrena, transforms the waterpark into a magical lagoon with underwater performances, storytelling, singalongs, glitter tattoos, and meet-and-greet sessions. Kids can even join a special Mermaid Tail Posing Workshop to learn how to channel their inner sea royalty.

Beyond the magic, families can enjoy a wide range of SG60 deals, including $6 and $60 specials such as Cathay Cineplexes popcorn and nuggets at $6, bonus tokens at Cow Play Cow Moo, a Family Fun Bundle at Tayo Station, and discounted art, music, and climbing workshops. 3. Experience Singapore Night Festival 2025 at the Bras Basah.Bugis Precinct

Step into the Bras Basah.Bugis Precinct from 22 August to 6 September 2025 for the 16th edition of the Singapore Night Festival, themed Island Nights in celebration of Singapore’s 60th anniversary.

Families can explore Singapore’s rich island heritage through stunning projection mapping on historic landmarks like the National Museum (MOSAIC by Jérémie Bellot) and CHIJMES, alongside six luminous installations across the precinct. Don’t miss highlight experiences such as Sky Castle, an interactive inflatable arch installation by ENESS that responds to crowd movement, or Kampong Chill at Capitol Singapore, a relaxing pavilion offering workshops that capture the essence of island life.

Festival-goers can also enjoy roving performances and live stages, including LED shows by Starlight Alchemy, Xinyao singalongs in Our Songs, Our Stories, Penang’s Ombak Potehi puppet theatre, and puppetry adaptations by Paper Monkey Theatre. Families can wander through festival villages, including Paradise Island at Armenian Street and the new Retro District at Bugis Street Art Lane, offering food, retail, and interactive experiences. 4. Join the Fun at TableCon Quest 2025, Singapore’s Biggest Tabletop Gaming Convention at Suntec

Singapore’s largest tabletop gaming convention is back! TableCon Quest 2025 returns on 23 & 24 August at the Suntec Convention & Exhibition Centre, Halls 403–405, with triple the space, exciting new zones, and activities for gamers, families, and curious newcomers alike. This year’s highlights include the Bushiroad Card Game Festival—making its debut outside Japan with tournaments, demos, and appearances by voice actresses like Yuka Nishio and Aina Aiba—and the return of the Ultraman Card Game, featuring a brand-new Sealed format tournament, exclusive anniversary reveals, and even a chance to meet Ultraman Tiga in person. Families can look forward to hands-on fun across the expanded zones, from immersive storytelling at the RPG Zone and beginner-friendly Dungeons & Dragons sessions, to creative workshops like miniature figurine painting with the popular Knight Cat and Wizard Cat models. 5. Meet the United Buddy Bears at Gardens by the Bay

Venue: Supertree Grove Lawn at Gardens by the Bay

The world-famous United Buddy Bears exhibition has finally arrived in Singapore, making its debut at the Supertree Grove Lawn, Gardens by the Bay!

Families can look forward to meeting 150 life-sized, brightly painted bear sculptures, each carrying a message of peace, tolerance, and cultural diversity. Since its first showcase in Berlin in 2002, this iconic exhibition has travelled through 36 countries, including the United States, France, Egypt, Japan, and India—now it’s Singapore’s turn. Among the 150 bears, 145 are designed by artists to represent their home countries, including Singapore’s very own “homecoming bear,” designed with orchids, henna tattoos, and lotus motifs to reflect our multicultural heritage. Look out too for five “special bears” that highlight universal values such as human rights, respect for life, and peace across religions.

With free admission until 12 October 2025, this colourful outdoor exhibition is the perfect way for kids to explore global cultures while enjoying a family day out at Gardens by the Bay. For more information, check out our write-up here.
