3. Relive Singapore's TV Classics at the Singapore TV: From Local to Global Exhibition at Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre

Venue: SCCC Creative Box, Level 6
Dates: 9 Jul 2026 - 26 Jan 2027, 10 am - 6 pm
Admission: Free
Parents, it is time to take a trip down memory lane and share a huge piece of your childhood with the kids. Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) and Mediacorp have teamed up to launch a brand-new exhibition that traces the evolution of local Chinese television dramas from the 1960s all the way to the present day. Singapore TV: From Local to Global is a wonderful opportunity for you to show your children the iconic shows, stars, and stories that you grew up watching after school or during family dinners.
The exhibition is split into five interactive, chronological zones that make history fun for the little ones. You can step into recreated, nostalgic sets from legendary dramas like The Unbeatables and The Awakening, look at original costumes from The Return of the Condor Heroes, and even browse vintage television magazines. To keep the kids fully engaged, there are hands-on interactive experiences throughout the space—including a multimedia booth where you can both have a go at dubbing a classic scene from Good Morning, Sir!.
As you wander through the changing eras of television, it serves as a brilliant conversation starter to explain to your children what life was like when you were their age. From vintage television sets to modern micro-dramas, this exhibition beautifully bridges the generation gap through shared pop-culture memories.
BYKidO Tip: Head straight to the first zone with the kids to try out the interactive dubbing booth. Getting them to voice lines from Good Morning, Sir! is not only incredibly fun and full of laughs, but it is also a fantastic, low-pressure way to get them practicing their Mandarin.
