We will be stuck at home for the Mid-Year Holidays, but there are still tons of events and activities happening online to help entertain the kids!
Even if we can't head out, many edutainment (education and entertainment) providers have brought their service and offerings online for this Mid-Year Holiday. Take a look at the list below and let us know which catches your eye!
National Library Board
What: The National Library Board will be organising Facebook "Live" storytelling sessions from Monday through Saturday. These will be available in English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. This storytelling session is one of many digital services offered by NLB during this COVID-19 period.
Act 3 International
What: No promises that this is happening weekly, but Act 3 International has been holding a "Live" storytelling session over the last 2 Saturdays @ 10.30 am. Judging from the comments, these were pretty well received! Simply head over to Act 3 International's Facebook Page to get updated!
The Storytelling Centre
What: Stay Home Storytelling is an initiative by The Storytelling Centre Limited in response to the Covid-19 social distancing measures. Stories are uploaded weekly on their YouTube and Facebook on Fridays @ 12 pm. Links and schedule of the next stories are available on the Stay Home Storytelling FB Event Page.

Andrew Lloyd Webber's Biggest Musicals Online For Free
Each week, a musical from Andrew Lloyd Webber will be streamed for free online! Starting with "Cats" on the 16th of May 2020!
Mr. Egg Magic Show
What: Again, there is no promises that Mr. Egg will continue his highly popular online "Live" magic shows. Having done the last 3 episodes on Saturday mornings, you may want to keep an eye for more information! What: Esplanade continue on...line with various offerings covering Music, Theatre, Dance, Visual Arts and more! There are even specific programmes for kids! Including Sing-along to catchy PLAYtime! tunes too!
What: The National Arts Council and the A List is bringing art to you through #SGCultureAnywhere, a sharing of online resources, including a "Inspire Your Child" section for the children and children in you! Expect hands-on activities, storytelling sessions, insights, and more!
ArtScience Museum - Virtual Tours
What: If you have not visited the ArtScience Museum, this is the time to go on a virtual tour of the different exhibits. Updated every fortnight on Tuesday, the tours bring your through the exhibits and you can also catch previous episodes too! It reminds us of the fun times we had at the Alice in Wonderland exhibit in 2019!
Singapore Philatelic Museum - Virtual Tours
What: The museum is undergoing revamp and is expected to be re-opened in 2021. While we cannot go inside (or go outside too), we may still go on a virtual tour around the museum and its many past exhibitions! Strap on a VR headset and the experience is amplified!
National Gallery Singapore - Gallery Kids!
What: A new dedicated website by the National Gallery Singapore updated with new art experiences every week! Get lots of free home-based activities for the little ones to stay in touch with Art this school holidays!
National Heritage Board - #StayHome Activities
What: With the start of the school holidays, the National Heritage Board has introduced a whole bunch of enriching and fun activities that parents can do with their children. Here are some programmes that we think would keep children entertained while exploring their cultural heritage. Try the Heritage Explorers Programme or the Conversation Starter Kit to bring the kids on a trip down memory lane!
Act 3 Drama Academy - One-Off Workshops
What: Join birthday girl Princess Lolly, the Caterpillar who ate through the week, and Max and the ferocious Wild Things in an engaging one-off session for 18 month-olds to 7 year-olds. 3 Different workshops are suitable for different age groups and are available from $40.
The Little Executive - Virtual Camps
What: The Little Executive offers virtual holiday camps to keep the little ones engaged, such as Dino Adventure, Read & Write Heroes and Frozen. They also offer Virtual Classroom Trial Lessons, which includes a trial lesson for kids and a parent orientation video.
SRT Stage Camp

This May school holidays, join SRT’s DIGITAL Stage Camp that will inspire your child to see the sky’s the limit and to dream big, speak up and stand out! Conducted via Zoom from 11th - 15th May.
