9 Events & Activities to Celebrate Mother’s Day 2024 in Singapore

Mother’s Day has become a day to show that we love, care and appreciate all that our mothers do for us throughout the year(s) and while we surely shouldn’t limit to showing it only on one day, there’s nothing wrong with showering that amazing lady in your life with flowers, dinners and events on this special day!

This year, Mother’s Day falls on 12 May 2024 and if you’re on the lookout for things to do with your mum, we have got some ideas for you!

1. Celebrate Mother's Day with Music at the SSO Mother’s Day Concert!

Mark your calendars for a special musical treat this Mother's Day! Join the Singapore Symphony Orchestra on 12 May for the SSO Mother’s Day Concert, conducted by the orchestra's very own Music Director, Hans Graf. Held at the Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage in the heart of the Singapore Botanic Gardens, this enchanting concert promises a selection of classical delights and picturesque scenes from the great operas amidst the lush greenery of the gardens.

Here's a little tip! Arrive early, get a good spot on the lawn, spread your picnic mats and have your picnic baskets ready to catch a captivating pre-show performance at 5.35 pm by Symphony 924's Young Talent, Mapletree-TENG Scholar and Zhong Ruan musician, Li Zhixin, as she wows the audience with "Camel Bells Along the Silk Road 丝路驼铃" by Ning Yong.

Admission is free, so gather your loved ones and make it a musical Mother's Day to remember! Pets are welcome, and for those unable to attend in person, the performance will be live-streamed on the SSO Youtube channel too.

Make sure you don't miss out on the chance to celebrate the mothers in your life with an outdoor family picnic in the evening, complete with beautiful music.

2. Let Mom and Child Create a Gift Together

6. Jazzy Ukulele Mother's Day at OCBC Wisma Atria

This Mother's Day, have fun as a family in this unique ukulele concert experience at OCBC Wisma Atria on 12 May 2024 from 12 pm to 1.30 pm. Daniel Purnomo will be performing some wonderful tunes on ukulele and vocal while Fabian Lee will be playing double bass. It's gonna be an awesome blend of those instruments. Get ready for a fun, jazzy, refreshing, inspiring and memorable Sunday afternoon.

Head down to Cheng San Public Library for a mother's day special simple beads making workshop and learn how to create your own bead necklaces with easy-to-follow instructions. This a free event suitable for 8 years old and above. 

8. Parent and Child Baking Workshops with Genius R Us
