Made with Dajia yam from Taiwan which is prized for its richness and characteristic fragrance, Only Yam ($48.80, $7.90 for a slice) is a layered indulgence comprising luscious yam paste, BreadTalk’s signature Japan light cheesecake, silky-smooth pudding and Chantilly cream cheese between pillow-soft yam chiffon layers. The cake is adorned with purple carnations piped with Korean buttercream.
Surprise mum with Graceful Lychee ($48.80, $7.90 for a slice), a delicate ensemble of sweet lychee coulis and smooth yoghurt mousse between layers of blushing pink chiffon cake. Decked out in a gorgeous pink ombre, the cake is accentuated with a final flourish of dainty Korean buttercream flowers – making this the loveliest gift for Mum!
New Bun Creations
Snack on new creations which include inventive toasts like Blueberry Milky Way ($4.50), a loaf of violet-hued bread stuffed with indulgent cream cheese, tangy wild blueberry jam and studded with dried blueberries, and Purple Rice Toast ($4.60) made with a blend of fragrant black glutinous rice and sweet potato dough which renders a burst of sweet and savoury notes with every bite.
Indulge in more irresistible goodness such as Yammy Lava ($2.30) oozing with creamy yam paste and golden custard that leaves one pining for seconds, and Pulut Hitam Marble ($3.20); BreadTalk's inspired riff on the local popular dessert with a well-balanced blend of black glutinous rice, coconut cream, sweet potato powder and a touch of sweet custard.
Returning Favourites
Perennial favourites also make a comeback this Mother’s Day, such as buttery and flaky Yammy Croissant ($3.00) packed with a gratifying pairing of mochi and yam paste, then lightly dusted with sweet potato powder – these freshly-baked buns are only available for a limited time only.
